Port City Pawn Shop — Local services in Garden City

I have NEVER in my life experienced such poor customer service. There is a young woman at the counter that is by far the most nasty person I’ve ever dealt with. My fiancé and I came in to purchase a sander that was tagged for a larger price than the new one at Home Depot. I looked it up prior to asking for a price, I used to work in a pawn shop, I did the proper research. She told us $10 less than the brand new price and we said “no thank you, we’ll pass that’s too close to the new price” to which she responded with “yeah that’s why I SAID $40” (new one is $50). So we went to leave and said we would pass yet again and she says to my fiancé “okay you can put it back then” and slams it on the counter. We walked out. I am disgusted that she believes that treating people so poorly is okay AND that she is employed in a CUSTOMER SERVICE industry with such poor mannerisms. Do better Port City. I’ve never had such a bad experience. Would NOT recommend going here. I hope your employee sees this and understands that is NOT HOW YOU...

I love this place. I was new to the “pawn” world about a year or so ago, I taught myself and went in to several pawn shops asked questions, etc. I was referred to them . I went in and started working with the owner, nicest guy, and then next time I went in (the owner was busy) , he referred me to his son he helped me , very sweet young man, they work with u, their compassionate, caring , if u have problems explain they will work with u if it all possible. I won’t say their names for privacy reasons . But yes , everyone to the older guys, that have been there forever, they pretty much have the same customers they have had forever go by and see them, to the pretty ladies are jus as sweet, willing to help at any time. Oh one more thing, they have Christmas parties , stop by , I did , it was so nice, they have music , fun stuff and this is the kicker they give out free jewelry to one lucky person at the end of the party . I love this pawn shop it’s one of the best in town. The owner and his sister Wendi makes you feel like family. I’m a person that I need a deal having four children and need to bargain shop. You want to be able to have some pieces of nice to have for myself. They worked with me on the price and even let me know what was on sale plus I got a military discount. It felt good to be acknowledged and getting nice real jewelry. They even do layaway so I didn’t have to miss out on what I wanted.
