Joe D's Bar — Restaurant in Garden City

My experience was terrible. I visited this place about three or four Friday nights to do karaoke with me and my family and friends. And every time I visited this place me and my friends and family would walk in and people would just stare us down and look at us with nasty looks as in what are we doing there. The bartender would not come over and ask us what we would like to drink we would have to go to the bar and have to order our drinks but she was going up to every other table that was white. Then other times when we came in this older couple that sits on the front row every time we came they would leave telling the karaoke host that they don’t feel comfortable. Then on my last visit and by the way I am a Michigan State police officer, So I don’t drink and drive, I was there just to sing but my girlfriend was there to drink and my girlfriend could not make up her mind of what she wanted to drink so the bartender goes to the karaoke host and tells him do not let them sing until they had at least two drinks each. So I’m wondering why my name is being skipped in rotation so I get up and ask the host when is it my turn and he tells me you have to order two drinks to sing. Then I asked there’s no sign in here that says I have to order a drink to sing and he tells me well we just made that rule up. Then me and my girl Leaves and the bartender follow us out and tell us don’t come back here. Like I said this was the worst experience I have ever had and if I could give this place zero...

In the first twenty minutes I witnessed.

The bartender discriminate against a lesser privileged patron.

The bartender over serve a regular named james who was drunkenly trying too buy me a beer at 4pm on a Wednesday but the bartender wouldn't allow it.. (PS if your going too over serve please do it after school is fully let out.)

And the lack of empathy the old bartender showed when I told her too be nicer.

I not only fear for the bartenders safety if she is going too treat patrons this way but also the business itself.

All I'd have too do is bring a video camera in and the business would be shut down.

Get your stuff together this corner used too be the highlight of the bar scene it makes sense why you only have a bunch of old drunk alcoholics in your establishment.

So… moved back home. Was bored. Thought I’d check out the local corner bar. How disappointing 😕 really thought the locals would be friendly and talk, but nobody talked to me. I just sat there for an hour by myself. Bartender Kevin wasn’t even very friendly. Just kind of gave me my drink and left to talk to the regulars. I would think for a bar that had literally five people in it on a Thursday night would be more friendly, and that would really draw more business. Only reason I gave it a 2star for location...
