Plank's Bbq — Restaurant in Garden City

I had the three meat combo. All three were bad.

The brisket was a horror show. Cooked to mush and shredded and flavorless and soggy. Just awful!

Pitmaster?!!! More like Pitiful!!!

The sausage was probably the cheapest sausage you can buy at Walmart: Eskridge. I’ve had it before but never at a restaurant! And the sausage I was served was heated in a microwave or some such. It had never been on a grill, the casing was soft and it had no smoky flavor at all.

The pork ribs were ok on the thin rib end. The fatty/cartilage end was burned on the outside and raw on the inside. Inedible.

So of the three meat combo I received, the thin end of the ribs were ok and the rest was substandard or worse.

The okra was fair. The baked beans were “OFF”. My daughter loves Mac and cheese and she said these were runny and overcooked. And she’s 6 and not much of a food critic typically.

The best thing we had was the little prepackaged vanilla ice cream cup that came with the cobbler. I wouldn’t have ordered anything after seeing the meal, but my wife ordered the cobbler up front. Cobbler just OK but the schwann’s ice cream was pretty good.

Who on earth is rating this place 4 and 5 stars? Have people in KS never had properly...

We moved away from GC over a decade ago. We returned this weekend with a large group of family after a funeral and they were VERY accommodating. The food was every bit as good as I remembered it being and that's saying something, I was hopeful it would live up to my memory of Planks being delicious and it was. We had a wonderful waitresses, our food was fresh and quickly served. We had tons of leftovers from the 2 family packs we ordered. My favorite are the ribs and the brisket. Soooooo good. The fried pickles are really yummy too!!! All in all, we enjoyed ourselves and I'm glad that Planks is just as good now as it's always been. This is a true gem in SWKS. I eat a lot of BBQ in Texas and this holds up right alongside the greats...

I’ve eaten here twice and the BBQ is on point. Personally I’ve had the ribs, pulled pork, sweet potato fries, and slaw. Others I’ve eaten with had the brisket as well. Everything I’ve (we’ve) had was excellent, especially the ribs. The last time I visited, I order a full rack of ribs to go and took them over to the nearest watering hole. I couldn’t believe the amount of meat they provided. It was literally half a rack and I could only eat about half of it. The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is their beverage selection leaves a lot to be desired…the reason I took my meal elsewhere. Otherwise, everything including service...
