Sports Venue Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Garden City

We had only been here once before for a friend's birthday party but we seemed to like it and planned on coming back. We finally did and were not disappointed. I started with a tall Labatt Blue and the Mrs had a Malibu rum and pineapple. Regretfully I hadn't gotten pictures of our lunches that day but my wife and I both really enjoyed it. In fact she said her hamburger was possibly her new favorite thing, along with the curly fries. She had a simple cheeseburger with the fixin's but it looked to be the definition of a GOOD bar burger (tasted good too, I only had a bite). Myself, I had their version of a Slim Jim and regular fries and really liked both; would definitely get it again provided I don't get hooked on the hamburgers! They do carryout also and we don't live far, so for sure we'll be back either way.

UPDATE: returned 9/24/22 and again was not disappointed at all. Wife and I both got the cheeseburgers with grilled onions and split orders of curly fries and onion rings (see add'l pictures). Mom-in-law accompanied us as well also got the cheeseburger; all three of us were stuffed. They got busy very quickly as Michigan was playing early but the service was good and kept up nicely. I want to share a silly story to those reading this review. This 5 Star review is based upon Sports Venue's awesome service and my idiocy;) Matt is awesome! My wife & I came in and sat at the bar with Matt taking care of us. We ordered 6 Wings to eat at the bar and ordered a carryout order. During this time, my wife and I had a few drinks and were feeling well;). Matt brought our carryout and we paid our bill. Anyway, we get home & I thought our carryout was missing the steak and chicken fajita from our large carryout. I call the bar and ask to speak to Matt and tell him the situation. He was so awesome! He kept me on the phone (While being busy as hell!) and went to the kitchen asking them what happened to our order. It turned out that I had put the leftover chicken wings on top of the fajita meat thus camoflaging the fajita meat. I apologized profusely to Matt on the phone and we had a good laugh. This is one of the worst places I’ve been in a long time. I went out for my husband‘s birthday food was mediocre. I didn’t care for my chicken. It was very dry. It took us 15 minutes for the bartender to walk to the other side of the bar to take our order and she wasn’t very nice. She looks like she had a very nasty attitude. She never smiled once.she made feel unwanted. when we were ready for our second drink, we had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes while she was on her phone and talking to other not working by that time we was ready to go to another bar We was out going to the car A tall Caucasian man came outside stopped us and asked why we did not tip the bartender so I told him that she had a nasty attitude,rude toward us. I THOUGHT HE WAS MANGER OR SOMETHING 😬then he became rude and started calling us names.
