Lucky Wok — Restaurant in Garden City

Called a few months back and got a delivery about 1.5 hours before close. They got to our house and had forgotten crab rangoons, no big deal. He doubled back to give us our order of crab rangoons since we checked before he left.

We then call today and we are told that they will no longer deliver to us. The guy we spoke with said there's a note that says "Do Not Deliver" in our account. We asked to speak to a manager and asked her if this had something to do with the double back inconvenience last time? She said no, you're just too far away. Mind you we've been ordering Lucky Wok from our house for three years and we give $5+ tips every time. I asked if their delivery zone has changed and she said no. Then she said "Well if you're willing to wait 1.5-2 hours, we can deliver to you. Just make sure when the driver arrives, you check your order and make sure it's correct". What on earth? If this has nothing to do with the double back thing, why would you say that...?

I don't feel comfortable ordering here any more, they seem to just change their delivery zones depending on who inconveniences them, and who knows how they'll correct the...

I have been a customer of Lucky Wok since about 2012. I enjoy their food, and appreciate the delivery option. The issue I have is that they always forget some rice in their delivery. I even mentioned to them on the phone that I would like them to make sure there was enough rice. Today, after having the delivery driver wait while I checked my order, I found they only gave me one quart of rice, despite ordering three things from their menu that should come with rice. When I called, a woman refused to correct the issue, telling me I was wrong.

This is such a small thing, but when they 'forget' an item every single time, then tell me Im wrong about it, I have to leave a review for other people to be aware.

On top of that small issue, their website prices are either incorrect, or they are adding random charges onto their things. I ordered Beef and broccoli, almond chicken, and chicken pad thai, which according to their website should add up to 26.77. I got charged 30.12 after looking at my receipt.

My family and I have been ordering from Lucky Wok for over 10 years. It was the best Chinese food in the area, hands down! We ordered back in January and we were disappointed because the food did not taste the same, nor did the recipes seem the same. We thought it was a fluke because we have never had a bad experience. So today, 5/14/25, my son wanted Lucky Wok for his birthday dinner. We ordered the same as usual and sadly we were disappointed again. The food is not the same. The almond chicken was dry and the gravy for the chicken was bland. The pork low mein left an odd aftertaste. The green peppers and onions in the pepper steak we're beyond overcooked and we had more vegetables then pepper steak. The crab rangoons do not come with orders anymore. I do not know if the ownership has changed and the recipes were not bought too but this will sadly be the last time we order from Lucky Wok.
