In the heart of garden city, Kansas nestled between buildings is a vintage restaurant from 1925. Although in this time era, it was owned by Myers ice cream and has had several owners since the original opening. The interior has maintained much of its original structure. In 1943 the restaurant opened for lunch and dinner and still maintaining its 50s vibe. I felt like I transported back to the 50s. The owner was serving the customers working behind the counter and out on the dining room floor. The service was exceptionally great. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I ate a grilled cheese sandwich with pickles and chips. I took potato soup to go for dinner later. The food was amazing. It tasted like a home-cooked meal. You have to try the soda fountain it’s one of the few ones left, where they make sodas 1950 style. They have homemade pies too. Great food, chill drinks, vintage vibe! Cheers 🥂

Good food for a soda/burger joint. They were quite busy. We were seated at a table that hadn't been fully cleaned yet. 15 minutes later my wife goes to get menus. After that a waitress was fairly prompt in getting our order but it was still a bit longer before the sanitizer and cloth were retrieved from table. Nice place but they were understaffed for amount of customers. We both got the Fonz burgers and slpit a chef salad. Sadly no fries and were out of limes for limeade. Prices average.

I haven't eaten here since I was a kid. I ordered the lime freeze and was transported back to my youth. The 1950s atmosphere is exactly what you'd want it to be in a eatery like this. The prices are fair and the selection widespread. I'd thoroughly recommend stopping by here. Next time, I'm ordering a lemon shake. Update, I went back and ordered the lemon shake. Perfection. I also ordered the Chubby Checker. That paired nicely with the shake.

Our local friends recommended that we experience Traditions. They specifically recommended the lime sherbet freeze soda. It was fantastic! This place is adorable - a throwback to the 50s. Mike, the owner was there, and told us about the diner’s history. As we sat at the old time bar, we also split a roast beef and gravy sandwich- a true comfort, to-die-for experience. The malts are creamy and delicious as well. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and seemed truly excited that we had come to experience Traditions and Garden City. We would highly recommend stopping...
