Pare, want some calamari?
$15 UberEats credit
With UberEats finally servicing my area, I was emailed a credit of $15 on my first order. Not one to pass up free food, I eagerly perused the participating restaurants as to what to eat. Almost going with North Shore Poke Co., I decided upon the 3 item Create an Italian Sampler from Augustino's Italian Restaurant.
3 item Create an Italian Sampler (2 orders of calamari frito & 1 order of spicy chicken wings)- After my courier dropped off my meal, I headed inside, got comfy in my chair and opened the lid over my free lunch. Huh? Unless an order of calamari is really tiny, I'm missing my second order of calamari. Since my courier was long gone, I called UberEats support about my problem. Instead of correcting the error with Augustino's & dispatching another courier to fulfill my order request, I was offered $5 in credit. Seeing how this meal was almost free (78 cents) and not wanting to deal with a headache, I thought "screw it", and was okay with additional $5 credit.
The spicy chicken wings were good, if a little overcooked to my taste. The skin was fatty deliciousness and the ranch dressing was as cool as a cucumber. The calamari frito were overly breaded, which wouldn't separate as I took a bite of each calamari ring. The marinara was tangy & zesty, great to dunk the calamari and/or the chicken wings.
The UberEats courier arrived at an address about 7 houses down from mine. I received a message that my courier arrived, but there was no one to be seen. He called me, and I asked if he was the one in the red truck. I told him he was at the wrong address & I told him to look behind him, as he'll see me waving to him. He quickly shot down & dropped off the goods, sans utensils and napkins.
While my UberEats funded lunch was decent, I was disappointed in my order not being accurate & the portions I received. At $9.99, I was expecting a little more (and in case of my missing second order of calamari, much more). Perhaps this was a slight aberration with Augustino's & UberEats, but I made sure to leave negative feedback on the app and constructively explain why. I may actually visit Augustino's in the future to give them a more comprehensive review, but with my experience dealing with Augustino's through UberEats, I can't recommend...
Read moreCute little place. The a/c didn't appear to be working, but we were near a fan and a door with a breeze, so we weren't overheated. They bring you garlic knots w/ marinara sauce. Everyone was satisfied with dinner, salad is not included, but you can add it to your meal for $3.99. Fair price for the salad you receive. Most pasta dishes are just under $20/ person. The Spinach Alfredo Fettuccini was delicious. The Anglio Olio sauce was good; however, the fresh garlic could have been cooked just until the bitterness was gone. (it was as if I was chewing on raw cloves of garlic) They did not skimp on ingredients! The wine sauce on the seafood pastas was good, but a little heavy on the wine, as it over-powered the flavor of the rest of the dish. Everything else was good. A piece of garlic bread comes with your pasta dish...delicious bread! Service was good, just what you would expect when going to dinner. Will be back, but will try...
Read moreThis is the first time Ive ever written a review but, I felt compelled to do so. Evidently, these positive ratings have come from people that have no idea as to what good food is. We ordered eggplant parmigiana and veal marsala tonight. The pasta was well overcooked but I'll cut them a break because it was take out. They should cook the pasta well before al dente because it continues to cook in the take out container. But, there is no excuse for the pasta to not be properly drained. It was swimming in water. The veal was in chunks and the consistency of pencil erasers and was more of a stew than a marsala. As far as the eggplant, I had to put so much salt and pecorino romano to give it a bit of flavor. I would not recommend the...
