Our family frequent this place often because our son likes their Bun Moc and banh cuon thanh tri. Often times we always order more than one orders saving it for the next day. We only do drive thru never eat in. However, due to the times our orders have not done correctly or the quality of food have gone down we won't be going often like before.
BUN MOC I've noticed recently that their bun quality have gone down. Like, for the Bun Moc, I usually put the noodles in the fridge right when we get home and the soup after once its cool down. Saving it for my son to eat the following day. But then the next day comes around, the noodle has already gone sour and slimmy. That's $10 down the drain.
BUN BO HUE The soup is tasty and has good flavoring. However, again often times we got cold, dry, hard noodles. And this is us buying it for lunch eating it immediately when we got home. I've had roughly 3 incidents where the noodles were dry and cold the moment we got home so I just throw them into a pot with the broth to heat them up. There's 2 incidents where the noodles spoil the next day. That's $13 down the drain. Ordering wise, the staff knowledge are not consistent on this dish. This dish is normally spicy due to the sate they add in the broth. When ordered non spicy the kitchen staff would put the sate in a separate tiny container for you to add at home according to your preference. So, when ordered non spicy some cashier staff would know to note no sate, while some staff said that's not an option regardless if I told them I've always been ordering it like that.
BANH MI THIT NUONG I used to like getting the banh mi thit nuong from here. But no longer because I've noticed their thit nuong has consist of more fat then actual meat. I guess it's better option for them to get cheaper quality meat. I don't want to be chewing on pork fat.
CHICKEN FRIED RICE Ordered this dish twice, and would most likely never order again because the dish came out super dry. Rice is dry and hard, chicken and dry and hard as well. It's like they have used boiled chicken breast/thighs that are just cut and boil and fridge. Chicken is flavorless.
BEEF STEW This dish is flavorful. The meat is tender. However, I wish they would cook the carrots longer cuz often times they're still very hard. The stew is also on the slightly sweet side. Maybe less sugar. Besides that thos dish is ok.
BANH CUON THANH TRI This plain rice paper dish is one of my son's favorite so I would only swing by to pick this up nowadays. The only thing is it's only available during mornings. Quantity is limited so if you go late during the...
Read moreI've gone here many times since the Grand Opening but I forgot to leave a review. I just realized that I gave the second store a review on Grand Opening Day but never wrote one for the first store. The staff at Pickle are all very nice, attentive & super friendly. They all made sure that I always got everything that I wanted exactly how I want it. I love it! There's so many places to go nowadays so I'd pick the places that cares about both the food & customer satisfaction.
Again, both locations are pretty consistent with their drinks. The Jasmine Milk Tea is the bomb dot com! It's perfectly fragrant & just the right amount of milk & sweetness so that I can enjoy the taste & smell of my tea! I'm very impressed because I can't find a better cup of tea in this town that's made exactly to my taste buds.
The Vietnamese coffee did not disappoint. Coffee is very competitive in this town & Pickle Banh Mi knows how to do it right. Perfect balance of bitterness & just the right amount of condensed milk. I can taste the coffee & the milk. Again; it's not too sweet & perfect balance on my taste buds.
The bread/baguette smells really good. It's crispy on the outside but so fluffy soft in the inside. I always order the Xui Mai (Meatballs) & I love that it just melts in your mouth! I also like the Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork) which has the perfect aroma of char & tastes savory! I also get their Dac Biet (The Classic) which was also very tasty & I love that they load it with my favorite creamy pâté paste.
I'm not a fan of Banh Mi because I never found a place that I can say that I like. I just eat it for the convenience whenever I'm on the go. It's easy & better than the other fast food alternatives. There's finally a place in town that will keep me coming back for Banh Mi with...
Read moreOut of many Banh Mi places (Vietnamese sandwich), this place offer the best taste, also their bread is not too hard and thick like Lee's sandwiches. I also tried Bo Kho (beef stew) but don't waste your money on this. The beef is super chewy and the flavor was meh. I love Bo Kho in general, but this Bo Kho has kept me away for a while. But, and this is a huge but for 1 star, they don't practice food hygiene. I went to the drive thru, but nobody assisted me, so I decided to park and do in-store. From there I found out the drive thru guy was busy back and forth taking order, handing money/cards, then went pack or make the orders himself in the back without wearing gloves or even wash his hands. Same thing happened with the girl who took my order in-store. I paid in cash, she took the money, gave me change and went to the back to pack the orders without washing her hands or wearing gloves. The lady before me reminded her to wash her hands but she totally ignored it. This hygienic problem didn't just end there. While I was waiting for my food, I saw another lady in the back just picking and organizing a big tray of pastries with just her bare hands. So I came to a conclusion that the owner of this place either does not care about food hygiene or he/she is too cheap to provide gloves for the workers. And all this happened in front of customers, let alone how they prepare food in the back. I will never come back here no matter how good their...
