It is with such sadness that I have to write this review about this place. My family and I have done parties here for a long time at this specific location even though I live in Downey I always come to the Graden Grove location and I’ve always had a great experience, until now. We decided to have my kid’s birthday party here and everything was going good, food was great, until my guest started consuming alcohol. Since the moment we started buying pitchers my guest felt judge and uncomfortable with the fact that the woman who was at the register (didn’t catch her name but had a mask on) was taking their order was telling them “that’s a lot” and goes on and tells them “your lucky we only sell beer until 8:30” mind you that my party was at 4 pm. (He only bought 5 pitchers for the whole party and it was “a lot”to them). We thought what a bizarre thing to say to a customer but brushed it off since we don’t really like conflict. Then when my guest wanted to buy more pitchers they denied service to him, when I, being the host, came up their to see what was the problem the manager Daniel was refusing services and stated “ he is only looking out after us” this is not okay, we were not being disruptive at all and my guest were not drunk, but we were denied service for no real reason and he claimed their policy consist of not selling so many pitcher to us, when I asked him to show me this policy in where it states the limit of pitchers that could be sold to a party he said their is no written policy, They do have a sign where it states that they only sell pitchers until 8:30pm and no alcoholic beverages after 9pm, but it never says that they have a limit of pitcher someone can buy. I told the manager that I was feeling discriminated because there are other people who clearly had many pitchers in their tables and those parties were smaller than mine. This “manager” clearly created a conflict that was unfair to us. The only person there who had great customer service and was very helpful was Mary, she was the first person who greeted me and took my first order, I really appreciate her service. My family and friends are not disruptive and are respectful towards others, but were treated poorly and unfair. What a way to end a party! I think it was very unfortunate that this happened after years and years of been a loyal customer of this location. This owner needs to be more selective of who manages his store in my opinion this manager Daniel has questionable customer service skills and lacks leadership. I will no longer recommend this location to anyone...

After 34 years of living in Lathrop, California, I finally made the six-hour drive to experience something incredibly personal—Shakey’s Pizza.
This wasn’t just any pizza stop. It was a journey tied to family, legacy, and memory. My dad was a General Manager at Shakey’s Pizza, and growing up, I was surrounded by stories of the place—how much pride he took in running it, how it brought people together, and how it wasn’t just about the food, but the atmosphere, the service, the community.
Ironically, despite it being such a big part of his life, I had never actually tasted Shakey’s Pizza myself. Until now.
Walking into the restaurant and seeing the history on the walls—the 1954 roots in Sacramento, the evolution through the decades—I felt a deep connection. I wasn’t just seeing a brand. I was stepping into my dad’s world. And when I finally took that first bite, it was everything I hoped it would be: crispy crust, flavorful sauce, melty cheese, and the kind of warmth you only get from a place that understands tradition.
This wasn’t just about pizza. It was about honoring my dad’s legacy, reconnecting with something that had always been part of our family story, and finally filling in the one piece I had missed: the taste.
Thank you, Shakey’s Pizza, for still being here—still delivering joy, flavor, and memories. This was more than a meal. It was a long-awaited, full-circle moment I’ll...
