Soyokaze Sushi — Restaurant in Garden Grove

Came on Sunday Night to celebrate party of 10, was asked to add our name to the clipboard outside. After 45 mins of waiting outside on the cold (they did turn warmers on after we asked) a hostess came out to tell us that it would be another 45 mins til we could get in. At that time we asked if we could be seated separately. After 20 mins more we were seated.. during that time we had already selected our food from the AYCE menu so we could be ready, our drink order was take after sitting for 20 mins. Then the server forgot half the drinks. He asked if we want to order and we handed him the selection sheet for the AYCE, and asked if it would be possible to see menu for the 5 not doing the AYCE, he said sure and took the paper with our food selection that normally goes to the chef, and crumbled and put in trash, then came back to bring menus and said can you fill AYCE menu selection as he lost ours and we told him you just crumbled it up and threw it away.. he seemed so dazed. So we did it again and asked if we could get the rest of our drinks, he said oh yeah and left. Anther server brought part of the non AYCE food and we asked for the drinks and finally they came .. the rest of the night continued like this.. and we then were charged a automatic 17% ($35) tip for party over 6 even though we could not sit together and the service was so bad we laughed. Would have given 1 star but the food...

We came to this establishment for a team dinner for 30. The location doesn’t accommodate for large parties very well and they are not organized for splitting multiple checks.

During our time one member in our party was not ordering and the manager made it a point target our table to ensure that he didn’t eat anything from another persons plate. To the point of having all her wait staff rotate on checking.

In the shuffle of all the commotion being caused by the manager for the one person, multiple orders where missed, incorrect and at the end they were asking who was paying for drinks after all the parents had already paid for their food and what they thought were there children’s orders. Even to the extent of add a beer to the drinks that they claimed were for the children’s table. Not ok!

At the end of our time the Owner came to my table and I greeted him with much respect and started to explain my disappointment with the service. Without letting me speak he interrupted me and told me that my food was free and never to come back again.

Overall our group spent $500+ dollars on mediocre sushi, cold and like warm dishes and unwelcoming customer service.

Never will return, not because of the owner. Worst out of town foodie...

After a long wait for only half of the food we wanted, we received another tables food. After we informed our waitress that this was not the food we ordered, she then took that roll to its intended tables. The roll had obviously came with a second roll, which we are thinking it was ours before realizing no one order the other roll. I can't believe that she offered an obviously disturbed and touched roll to another table. The following 2 rounds consisted of us reordering rolls that never made it to our table and fending off other tables rolls. What really set the atmosphere was the pilot of the new show Blood Drive on the TVs in the dinning area. Nothing like graphic gore and sex scenes to go with other tables sushi, all followed by a water show from a pitcher of water on one of our table members by the waitress. I wouldn't recommend this...
