I can only blame myself for what happened at this Chicken Maison yesterday. It is all on me because the last time I went there I told my wife and myself that I would never retuned. Unfortunately, for the sake of the short time between getting something to eat and the time I had left before picking up my daughter from school, I disregarded my own past experiences and went to this location anyway.
Just as in the past, (the same reasons this spot was forever taken off my list of places to eat), I could see in the cashier's expression as we made eye contact, the typical destain whites can't hide from their faces when they see a black man. I have seen this look almost all of my 60 years on this Earth.
I greeted the cashier as friendly as I do everyone, even though it was clear she was not happy taking my order. It was lunch time so the place was bustling with a lot of customers. After waiting for some time (even as long as it took for my wife to walk to the local McDonald to use the restroom and back) and our sandwich was still not made, a young server came to the counter and shouted ”my” name. I got up and walked towards her and said yes, with my hand out to receive my order. She frowned as she pulled the bag back the way an angry toddler would when they don't want to share. She then looked to my left and offered a young white guy my sandwich that I had already acknowledged as the name they had taken when I made the order. It wasn't until the young white customer said it wasn't his did she give the bag to me. No ”I'm sorry" or anything at all, but a frown.
So like I said in the beginning. It was my fault for going back to this Chicken Maison location. Each time in the past it was always the same story.
The Chicken Maison on Inglewood is a totally different (better) experience and the food is much...
Read moreAlright, let's talk Chicken Maison in Gardena, CA. Forget your typical fast food experience, because this place is a whole different vibe. Five stars, no question.
Look, I'm all about finding that sweet spot where healthy meets seriously tasty. And Chicken Maison? They nailed it. It's like they figured out how to make "good for you" food that you actually crave.
My absolute go-to? The 1/2 Chicken Combination. And let me tell you, you have to try the spicy-lemon garlic flavor. Seriously, it's a game-changer. That zingy, garlicky kick with a little heat? It's like a flavor explosion in your mouth.
Now, when I'm sharing with my son, who's a bit less adventurous with spice, we stick to the original rotisserie chicken. And even that? Still bursting with flavor. Juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. It's clear they use quality chicken and know how to cook it right.
But it's not just the food that keeps me coming back. It's the whole atmosphere. Walking in, you're greeted by the friendliest staff. They're genuinely happy to see you, and that makes a huge difference. You know how sometimes you walk into a fast food place and you feel like just another order number? Not here. It's a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel good from the moment you step inside.
I haven't tried the other locations, so I can only speak for the Gardena spot, but honestly, they've set the bar pretty high. It's the perfect spot for a quick, healthy, and seriously delicious meal. Whether you're grabbing lunch on the go or feeding the whole family, Chicken Maison delivers.
Basically, if you're looking for fast food that doesn't feel like fast food, Chicken Maison is your place. You'll leave feeling full, satisfied, and like you actually made a good choice. And that, my friends,...
Read moreThe food is awesome! No complaints there! However, my last visit was not the best. The young lady at the front counter was not very friendly and just seemed to have an attitude. Usually the staff is very nice! This was on Friday, 4/25/25 around 6pm. I then watched this same employee leave from behind counter, put on gloves and begin sweeping the lobby area. She then rolled up all the rugs in the lobby, put them away and went directly back to cashier removed her gloves and started eating and drinking at the front counter. I asked if it would be okay if she washed her hands and she said with in an irritated tone that she had on gloves so she doesn't need to wash her hands. I spoke with the supervisor who said she did not have to wash her hands after touching the rugs and sweeping the lobby. I asked if they were familiar with the purpose of hand hygiene and the supervisor told me it was the staff's problem if she didn't wash her hand, not hers. I just felt that they are not aware of the importance of hand hygiene in an eating establishment and how this is the main way infections are spread. And they are handling our food. I won't go back to...
