Moose's BBQ & Catering — Restaurant in Gardner

Ermagerd! Tried this place for the first time and I am deeply impressed! Lived here for going on 3 years now and been looking for some good BBQ. I just found it!!! I have gone all over, even to Missouri looking for someone who can smoke some meat to my liking. I even went to them expensive restaurants (wasn't pleased) but DAAAAAMN! This place hit the spot. Smelled the smoker from around the corner. We were planning on going to Luchadors Mexican place next door (haven't tried it yet). But because the smell alone, we changed our minds to try the Moose's BBQ truck. Hubby, kids and I spent nearly $98 (w/tip) because we orderrd a lot of food to try. Just like most BBQ places, the price is high (comes with the times) but it was definitely worth it! I got the XL Pulled Pork Baked potato and I was not expecting SOOOO much food. Even ordered me the jalapeno cream cheese & corn appetizer because I didn't know how big of a portion it was going to be. Trust me, I wanted to, but I couldn't finish it. I picked some of my husband's pulled brisket, kids had a pulled pork sandwich. Even tried me some of their cheese curds. I am drooling thinking about the leftovers I have for tomorrow...haha I really can't explain how much I wanna rave about this place and how AMAZING the food was. This fairly new food truck satisfied on multiple levels. I enjoyed my four rib dinner, which included my choice of two sides and a sauce (reasonably priced at $9.99). The meaty ribs fell off the bones, with plenty of smoky goodness, but could have been leaner. The baked beans were very flavorful, with some good heat, while the cole slaw was extra creamy (maybe a little too creamy). Both sides were generously sized. Smelled amazing.. Got in line on my lunch break and waited 25-30 mins. Ordered just a half a pound of pulled brisket and coleslaw. The coleslaw was amazing but the brisket was way to salty and had a weird flavor (kinda like Montreal steak seasoning had just been poured on top of it. The guy handed the little kid some kind of spice in a shaker as they were making my food.) plus 70% of my "meat" was fat chunks. One was even the size of a golf ball.just not a good 1st experience. What topped the experience off was the sweet baby rays bbq sauce... If i go to a Bbq place i want some amazing bbq sauce that's homemade not...
