Hunan Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Gardnerville

Wanted to give 5 stars because we are loyal to Hunans Gardnerville & will never stop.... However, do not offer a "to go" option if you are going to stand there next to me holding the bag asking me every 30 seconds if I'm done filling my to go box yet... Because you're worried I'm going to take too much or whatever her justification is. It's not nice & is super rude and for some people I'm sure triggers some insecurities . We come grab food and go instead of sitting down and eating multiple plates for around the same price... We don't go there as much now or try to only go when Mom isn't there because she is just so rude Everytime. No matter how big we tip. (I'm talking a normal to go box, not over filled, closes fine etc) She did it right in front of me to an heavy set woman today whose to go box wasn't even as full as mine .. it was obvious she was being discriminated against and that's what finally made me write a review after trying to bring it to their staffs attention and them literally laughing me off.... We love you guys, but why so rude to customers more...

We have been eating at Hunan for years stopping almost every time we travel to Reno or home. We used to love the good tasting food and friendly attentive service. Last three times we visited we have been very disappointed in the taste of our favorite dishes and service. This had been within the past six months so it's not just a short term adjustment but over a period of time now. Last night on our way home we decided to try one more time. Sadly i join many friends who will stop eating at this restaurant. Not only was every dish lukewarm but didn't even come close to tasting like it used to. The coconut shrimp was tart, butter shrimp no flavor at all, teriyaki chicken stick unflavored and dried out, almond chicken taste of spoiled flavor, etc. And our favorite employees employees acted like they didn't even want to be there. I hope they read this and go back to their old ways... raise the price not lower the quality to...

Easily the best Chinese restaurant I've eaten at. I think they are family owned and operated and they are great. They are very polite and are very professional. Now to the food. Both main course and dessert foods are in their buffet and I love all of it. The chicken is very tender and flavorful, the potstickers are crunchy, and their chow mein is buttery and delicious.
