I don't expect much going to a McDonald's, but my experiences at this location has been even more sub-par then usual. It seems that the employees, more then usual, don't want to be there -- and the thing is, I don't blame them. It seems that they are overworked and under-payed, which sadly seems the norm, but here in Traverse City where the city is large and a fast food restraunt like McDonald's receives the lion's share of critism, and the average employee gets all of that constantly; really we need to zoom out, change our scope and look at the company. If the company/franchise owner treated the employees better, they would likely try to uphold the McDonald's Gold Standard; of-course there are exceptions, but we need to hold accountable whom that should be.
Now, that's not to say that the employees hold no blame. They could try to, 'Uphold the Gold,' but other then unpleasant working conditions and meager pay, what's the point?
My food was unpleasant and the quality varied IN THE BAG ITSELF. One burger had an one old crusty patty and one seemingly fresher(?) patty -- so quality inconsistancy is forefront. Service is basic and seems more like a dissatisfied robot then someone serving you a quick and hot meal. All-in-all, I'm not much a fan of this McDonald's location, and I hope that conditions improve for all involved.

Read morethis place has gone down hill since summer went away. one of the last times i came here, the lady who is ALWAYS at the first window charged me for someone else’s order because she didn’t read it out to me then stuck my card into the payment machine and got charged for someone else’s order before i could even tell her it wasn’t my order. so she charged me $15 for 4 cheeseburgers & a medium Dr. Pepper. no apology, no accountability. just “here’s your refund receipt” and she didn’t even say it, just gave it to me and shooed me away by shutting the window. this LAST time i wanted to get food, i waited 3-5 minutes to order (which is okay). but when i finally got up to the speaker and took 2 SECONDS of no communication to the employee because i was talking to my passenger on what they wanted to order, i got ignored and the same exact lady who is ALWAYS taking orders and in 1st window went to the other car in the other ordering lane. when i decided i didn’t want to get anything from here because that was insanely rude, she didn’t apologize for not giving us a second to collect our order and says “okay. you ignored me!” I IGNORED YOU?! HOW!! YOU DIDNT GIVE ME 2 SECONDS TO GET MY ORDER, LET ALONE ASK IF YOU ACCEPT APPLE PAY FIRST!! the lady is almost always rude and it’s never okay to be rude to customers. if you’re going to be rude, at least take...
Read moreThere's no more indoor dining ever since COVID. What a great excuse to downsize. Drive-thru only. It's McDonald's, that's where the food quality is at. For a drive-thru only, I would expect this light increase in speed. I experienced the opposite. I suppose, in these trying times, I should consider myself privileged to be able to order food and receive it through a window thanks to all the dedicated people who bothered to show up -- after all, I don't imagine that they pay a wage that would enable people to make a living without holding another job or having an auxiliary source of income. Because of this reason I would like to be able to tip, but every time I have offered I have been told that they cannot accept tips. Maybe some day McDonald's will pay employees honestly. Until then I feel better going to any of the numerous artisan burger places in town. The cost is about the...
