Panda Express — Restaurant in Garfield

Where to begin..Food was disgusting. Specifically the food was cold, they were scraping food from the bottom of the pots, the chow mein noodles were dry and clumping, the meat was undercooked, even the spring rolls were not good at all. There is a staff there that is made up of all young non oriental people who are trying to make oriental food, who don't have a clue what they are doing. The staff up front were okay but most looked confused like they had no ideas what they were doing. Do yourself a favor and get some older Oriental staff that know what they are doing in the kitchen because if you keep serving nasty food like that I guarantee you WILL NOT last a year. Take some tips from the Laurel, Maryland staff because their food is good and ON POINT. I ordered 3 plates from here for my family and all 3 of us threw the food away about 1/4 of the way thru eating it..My husband actually wanted me to take this food back and get a refund (yes it was that bad) I'm just mad that I just threw away about $40..then had the nerve to charge me for a PAPER BAG..do yourself a favor DO NOT go here..you will be disappointed and anyone who said thie food was good obviously doesn't have any sense of what good food tastes like. Step it up Panda Express...

I can’t remember if I’ve actually ever had Panda Express before. Perhaps as a young kid at a mall somewhere? Well this most recent time, I ordered because there was a deal for a BOGO plate. Otherwise, I don’t think I would actually order from here.

I ordered for pick-up for 3:30 on a Thursday via the app. One chow mein with orange chicken and beef & broccoli, and one fried rice with black pepper chicken and Beijing beef. Everything was pretty salty. Most of the entrees tasted pretty similar - lots of MSG and sugar, but I must admit that I did like the orange chicken.

Overall, it’s what you’d expect from a Chinese take out chain. The four stars are not really for the food but really just the overall experience. My food was not quite ready when I got there but only because I was waiting on a fresh batch of Beijing beef. Plus the woman who was handling my order was very pleasant and nice. I wish I got her name but if management is reading, I was there on 3/22/23 at around 3:30. I probably wouldn’t be back unless there is another deal but if there is, I will be sure to visit this location.

Don’t waste your time going here. They handed out these following coupons in mail. It’s a new restaurant so I wanted to give it a try so I called them at noon to order for a delivery. The representative told me the coupons can not be used for delivery must come to the restaurant either on your phone (picture with QR code) or bring a physical coupon. So I didn’t order. On the same day at 8pm, I called them on my way back from the gym to try it out (this representative also told me I can use the coupon on my phone). I drove to the restaurant and asked the cashier at the time if I can use the coupon on my phone and she said yes so I started ordering. When the food was packed, this older mid aged hispanic female worker came out and told me I can’t use it. She refused furiously when I asked her if she can just scan the QR code. I was so frustrated because I called them three times in a same day to confirm! That mid-age worker should be fired, it’s either she is incapable of customer service of the management is highly unprofessional. Until there is a change I will not be going back here.
