We came across Mama's pizza after a trip to Escapology, which is directly across the street. My first impression as soon as I walked in was it was a nice well lit clean restaurant. We ordered two specialty pizzas for our party of seven. We ordered the Chicken Parmigian pizza and the meat lover's pizza. The chicken Parmigian pizza was masterfully created with the perfect amount of breaded chicken and sauce. The cheese was perfect it wasn't too thick or to thin. It was delicious. This was no ordinary pie. It was astonishing. There are plenty of places that sprinkle the cheese on the pie scarcely. This was a beautiful consistent layer of cheese. It really commanded compliments. I instantly complemented the chef. Shortly after, our second pie came out. This was the Meat Lover's pizza and once again this pizza was expertly assembled. Not only was it assembled expertly it was cooked with special care and attention. After eating a slice from our first delicious pie I noticed the time and attention he was putting into the second pie. He didn't just toss the toppings on a pie and throw it in the oven. No no no! That would be too easy. You noticed I used the word "Chef" before. That was no mistake. I was sitting a little distance away, but I noticed that he was adding toppings to the pie while it was baking. It dawned on me that I have never seen anyone take the time and care that this Chef was taking to make this beautifully prepared meat lovers pie. Once again when the pie arrived it was not only appealing in appearance it was completely covered and layered with toppings. The sausage was crumbled and uniformly covered the entire pie. The other toppings were also uniformly spread out on the pizza. It was perfect. You know how you normally approach a pizza? You give the whole pie a quick look over before selecting the perfect slice. There was no perfect slice to choose from.....the whole pie was perfect! It didn't matter what slice you chose. They were all PERFECT! Okay, so now you know the pizzas were perfect. The restaurant was clean and well lit. Now for the service. There were only two people working. I am assuming the gentleman was the proprietor and afterwards established that the woman who waited on us was not his wife, but an employee. The waitress was very kind and took care of everything promptly. The pizza stands to hold the pies were placed on the adjacent table as to not crowd our dining experience. The table was stocked with multiple spices, so there was no waiting for someone to finish. There were multiple napkin dispenser's. The waitress brought us our 2 liter bottles of soda and our cups just prior to our food showing up. I requested ice and she brought us a pitcher of crushed ice. When she came to deliver the check she promptly removed our plates. The waitress came back with a box for our leftovers. When we walked away that night there was not one thing they could have done differently to make our visit more pleasant. This was not an ordinary pizza parlor experience in my opinion. These people took care of their restaurant and they took care of us just as well. Everything was delicious the service was perfect and the employees were good decent people. They were kind and out going. We need more restaurants like this one. I hope they get a chance to read this...
Read moreTook my 6 year old Grandson, his 4 year old brother and my son here for a kindergarten graduation lunch. It's primarily a pizza place but they have a dine in area with table service. They graciously served our choices family style. It was perfect for sharing a dining experience with young ones. Garlic knots, ziti, meatballs, sausage and believe it or not wonderful fried calamari that everyone enjoyed. The boys used the complimentary bread to soak up any sauce they could and they were given ring pops as we left. Lunch and service were great. A wonderful experience to introduce kids...
Read moreAfter enjoying Mama’s pizza fairly regularly years ago, we decided to pop in on a whim. The pizza didn’t seem as I remember—it was fine, just not my favorite. The sauce lacked the depth of flavor I look for, would’ve liked a bit more cheese (of course, it’s always my prerogative to order extra cheese), and the crust was a bit on the toasty/crunchy side for my taste. By no means a bad pie, just left me in search of some extra flavor that I usually hope for in a freshly made pizza from a neighborhood pizza spot like Mama’s. Service was fine and friendly enough, and prices...
