In my initial review in 2023, I gave five stars however after today I will not be returning... I have gotten my pizza the same way every time for the past 2 years. The cook made a mistake on the pizza because he was so busy watching TV. I started to say something but if I knew what I was doing I would be in the kitchen instead of at the table. When the young lady came back to the register area I let her know that I knew my pizza was overcooked and instead of apologizing or anything the cook gave the young lady at the register a hard time! I sensed his anger from my table!! She did nothing wrong she knows how I like my pizza and before I could complete giving her the order she already had it written down! He snatched the ticket hoping she had made a mistake but she didn't and he did not want to remake my pizzas so instead allowed the other employee to make it and he stormed outside! Sir, YOU chose to cook pizzas for a living so I'm sure what your failure to do YOUR JOB was about??!! As long as I've been coming here I've never been so angry and his body language told me a lot about who he was! To The Owner, people may forget what you say but they will NEVER forget how you make them feel! I have a right to like my pizza the way I like it because I am paying for it. I understand I am only one person but I was loyal! I did not mess up the order the cook did! How do you commit the crime and play victim? I do not patronize businesses that tolerate me. I go where I'm respected as a paying customer! An apology for getting the order wrong would have been nice I didn't even ask for my money back I waited for my pizzas to be made a second time! So since it was such an inconvenience to have my pizza made the correct way I will no longer patronize this establishment! I am certain it doesn't matter because if it did an apology at the very least would have been given instead of an attitude. 30 minutes later and I still haven't eaten that pizza he has ruined the craving I had... I will pray over my pizza before I eat it due to the bad...
Read moreThis is the proverbial neighborhood gem. Family-run, with friendly and welcoming service, and very good food (especially relative to your typical pizza, pasta and sandwiches restaurant).
While visiting the area, my picky 12YO daughter and I stopped in not far in advance of closing. We dined in, but never felt rushed or unwelcome. We didn't feel like pizza, but I noted the proper pizza oven and prep station. My daughter's pasta bolognese was quite good, and authentic (meaning it was a proper bolognese rather than a lake of tomato sauce with meat [If you know, you know]). My chicken parmigiana sub was excellent, and served on a fresh, chewy roll. Good stuff all around. I opted to take away a piece of the homemade, and tasty, tiramisu as well.
This is the sort of place where one normally refills one's own drinks at the fountain and busses one's own table. But the proprietor onsite that night, the matriarch of the family, brought our food to us, offered to refill drinks, and insisted on clearing the table. She was friendly, engaging, and hospitable. How often does all that happen anymore?
Enzo's was a very welcome find. While we have family in Charlotte, admittedly we don't visit Gastonia very often. Enzo's was so good, though, that next time we're in the area we might make a special trip. If you live in the general area, or will be passing through, I encourage you to give Enzo's a try. Great stuff.
I'll add that I'm given to understand that the owner's husband has been dealing with a health issue (which is all I'll say here). In case the family should read this, please know that we're thinking of you and wish you all the best. You're running a fantastic local restaurant.
I encourage readers to give Enzo's a try, and in so doing help out a terrific...
Read moreWas my go to pizza place until we started getting reheated pizza....pizza is priced at a premium price point but the quality is hit or miss....the cheese pizza was some of the best I ever had, however it is also some of the worse when they decide to heat up a stored pizza and sale it to a customer as fresh...to counter this I started ordering mediums in stead of large ( my thinking the large stored pizza for in house buffet) but when I call in the order they try to talk me into large also saw waitress talk a family out of menu order for the house special order...its clear all that matters to the Enzo staff is to get you in and out without them doing anything extra! The staff is always the same people when I go and they are always working...however it's clear they are understaffed, which leads to short cut ( reheated pizza and house specials) and the ONCE great quality is suffering because of it...i hate giving a negative review but I have spent a lot of cash ( have receipts to prove it ) and they have failed to deliver quality on small one pizza orders, 3 or less pizza orders, and even on a larger order for my construction crew...i hope they can rediscover the quality that once produced one of the best cheese pizza around, sadly I have been served a bunch of less than quality pizza on my last few visits and will not be around if the quality...
