New Rodeo Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Gatesville

Went to eat there with my daughter on Mother's Day after she got off work. I called them to find out what time they closed. I was told 10 PM. We get there about 8:30 or shortly after. Ordered our drinks, when the waitress came back with the drinks she took our order and told us they close in 15 minutes. I explained that I had called and was told they closed at 10 PM. If they had told me 9 we would not have come. She states the grill closes in 15 minutes, we stated that was fine that we wouldn't need anything else after our food. We got our food, the order was wrong but we didn't complain about that, we just made sure we were charged correctly. Waitress was watching us like a hawk to clear our table as soon as we pushed our plate away, not because she was an extremely good waitress but because she wanted us to leave. At 9 PM she brought us the bill, I told my daughter to not rush, because I called before coming and was told they close at 10, she is being rude about wanting us to leave and trying to rush us out. A couple of females had come in and sat behind us and she hollers across the room telling them they are closed, the girls states their sign says they are open, the door says they don't close until 10 and that it says online they are opened until 10. Then they say well, the grill is closed. The lady says we don't want food we just want drinks. They refused to serve them even though it is still during operating hours. Me and my daughter sat and finished our drinks, as we were talking and finishing up our drinks the waitress came back over to get payment of meal. My daughter told her to quit rushing us and she will bring it up to register when we are finished. The waitress said we are closed. At that time, I said," I called to see what time you close, I was told 10 pm. Your door says 10 pm, your open sign is still on and there are still customers in here. I will not be rushed out of here when there is still 45 minutes till closing, our food was wrong but we ate it anyway and just made sure you adjusted the ticket. There are still other customers in here, you are not going to rush us. She smarted off that she has a family and wanted to leave and walked away. This was the worst service I have ever had at Rodeo. If your hours of operation have changed then it needs to be updated and the customers need to be made aware. But you don't try to rush them out just because you want to leave. very poor...

So this restraunt is normally very good but today i can't say the same about the service. My in-laws, husband and I are here and we got our drinks and had to ask for ice because our tea was so warm ( I'm glad it was fresh) that it melted our ice in less than 5 minutes. We asked for extra ice infact we had to ask for a refill on everything. That includes our chips and salsa. In less than 10 minutes of our time there some staff began to argue and it lasted the duration of our meal. Our meal was brought out with no tortillas and we waited over 5 minutes for them while my in-laws and husbands fajitas were getting cold and I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for my chile relleno. Upon finish our meal we asked for 2 to go boxes and while we waited for those we watched our waitress laugh and cut up for a long while while we were trying to leave. Upon leaving my father in law paid for our meal with a hundred dollar bill and the woman walked off with it and began taking the order at the drive thru. Once again we were stuck waiting. This has to be the absolute worst service experience I've ever had any where. What happened to this place today! It was very disappointing to all of us. Needless to say we probably won't be back for a while. Wichita bites cause there salsa is my favorite. I just can't go back there after being treated so badly...

Wish I took a photo of my food, but everything about this restaurant was amazing! I came here for lunch yesterday and did dine in and then I came again today and did take out. New Rodeo Mexican Grill has a ton of food options to meet majority, if not everyone’s, needs. All the items are seasoned to perfection and tasted the exact same when I came back to try them again. The portions are large enough to feed two people easily whether you choose to go or dine in so be prepared to ask for a to go box. I highly recommend you try this restaurant if you’re considering it.
