Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Gatesville

Let's see... waiter #1 shows up and get drink order, delivers drinks and asks for our order and then leaves before taking the order, waiter #2 shows up and starts taking our order and then stops while searching for a working pen to write down order. At pen #3, waiter starts taking order again and repeats order back after collecting all of our orders. One minute later waiter #2 comes back and states the Italian sauce we order isn't available. what sauce, i'm thinking? waiter #2 starting going over long list of sauces when I explain that I said italian sausage (remember she read back the order before leaving the first time, right?) and goes back to the kitchen area to resolve whatever issue started this.

Pizzas are delivered by waiter #3 and 4 states the rest is in the oven and will be right out. Eating and drinking while waiting for rest of order waiter #2 comes up to ask questions while our mouths are full, try to signal waiter to wait, to chew HOT food quickly and not burn mouth too badly, the waiter #2 leaves and no waiters return. Waiters serve and talk and laugh with people at next table for 10 minutes but ignores us.

Finally tired of waiting for rest or order, go to front to check out and let them know about missing food items, which now become we didn't know about those items (remember repeated whole order at the beginning) and to get the re-order items again (of course, they makes pay FULL value for items they deny we had ordered in the first place) and take them to go.

While waiting for said non-ordered item to be prepared, idiot #1 yells to idiot #2 about not having anymore parmesan cheese (Pizza place without parmesan cheese?) so whole restaurant could hear clearly over the metal pans being thrown (yes, really being thrown - mostly on the floor, I could actually see it happen from the customer area) around in the kitchen area. After the paying for this abortion of a meal, I get stared at for not tipping.... really?!? seriously?!? you really want to go there, people?? When all is said and done the missing items weren't even correct ones even after telling them again what we wanted and we discovered this heading home.

The last time I didn't tip, was almost 40 years ago and this time I can say, with considerable pride, that I am glad I didn't tip. Their operation was being run like the Keystone Cops, there no real supervision going on to get things under control, I seriously doubt the pans thrown on the floor will ever seriously be look at for cleaning before being used again that night. Having an MBA in management and worked as a manager in Bar/Restaurant business before, I can safely say this place should be closed by the health department and the owner be heavily fined.

I always order delivery, and every single time it has been perfect. Tonight was my first time ordering a delivery that would be delivered later than when I placed the order. I wanted the food delivered at 9:15 but they dropped it off at 9:00. Now I appreciate the enthusiasm to get the food here, but the whole reason I wanted it that 15 minutes later was because my husband didn't get home until 9:20 and I wanted to surprise him with fresh hot pizza. Pizza is not hot anymore. Also they didn't put the buttery garlic on the crust that I ordered, and that made me sad. I didnt want to bother anyone by making a phone call and complaining, but I am hoping someone sees this and will be better about getting the timing correctly. Recently ordered out for delivery from here, called the local number four times, first two went to a call center that had no idea how to take the delivery address because it’s on a military base, our side alley has no street name, just building numbers, finally got the local shop on try 3, kid didn’t understand the delivery needs, hung up on me, fourth time got a woman who knew what she was doing, got my order and said it would be about an hour. An hour fifteen later, I get a call from the delivery guy, says he’s outside with my pizza, thinking he wants to make sure it’s the right building before he walks up, nope, he’s too lazy to walk the 25 feet to the door, he stands there until I come pay him and get the pizza. Pizza was mediocre just like every other Pizza Hut. Would not order...
