Antonio’s Pizzeria — Restaurant in Gautier

My Wife and I visited Antonio's Saturday night. As we entered the newly renovated restaurant, it smelled clean, appeared clean, it was well lit, and we were greeted and recieved instructions on ordering near immediately by the friendly staff. More amazingly as we entered the Resturant NONE of the Staff (mostly younger folks) were on their phones (was caught off guard by that!! Nearly every local resturant has many of their staffers on their phones)!! The Staff was tending to the resturant, seated guests, and helping one another. The food was served quickly and was nothing short of amazing! I had the Chicken Parmesan and the chicken was cooked & seasoned to perfection. The pasta sauce was obviously home made as the sphaghetti noodles were perectly seasoned and served hot from the oven. My Wife had the Fettuccine Alfredo. Once again the white sauce, noodles, & chicken were seasoned and cooked to perfection as well. The Owner (Mr. Antonio) himself took a few minutes to visit with us and shared some of his very interesting family history on the Coast and the success and legacy of his family's business. The service was great. I will say the pizza i got, the Maui Wowie, was "ok" the marinara pizza sauce itself was pretty absent. We also got the chicken parmesan pasta. The chicken itself was ok, but very little marinara sauce, so the noodles were also dry. Also, I am not a pickle person, but my daughter is and she wanted to try the Pickle Pizza on the menu. I was surprisingly shocked because, it was pretty good. The pepperoni calzone was really large and pretty good. I would recommend that. Its definitely to much for a small child. I really would like to see this restaurant succeed so Gautier can have more food options. We had a side of marinara for the breadsticks.Their marinara sauce is pretty thin ( watery) so maybe it bakes out when cooked on pizza. Please put more sauce on the food items. The food is absolutely delicious! I am in love with the garlic knots and the original ham calzone (iykyk!💙) with extra mozzarella. Every single thing I have tried has been phenomenal!
