Sunrise Cafe — Restaurant in Geneseo

I've known this restaurant by many, many names and many cooks and seasons. I have even worked there. Their pancakes are some of the best around and most consistent between changes. Their skillets are amazing too. However, I'm pretty sure the sausage links are warm and serve, so I'd recommend the sausage patties. The bacon is always a little floppy as well. Their eggs are almost always cooked the way you order them and their french toast is pretty good too. Honestly, for a small town breakfast place, I'd rather it be a little off than not open at all. I ate here multiple times and the food was great. Service was very good, everything was clean, surroundings were nice, most of the employees seem great… However, the past few times I’ve been here I’ve heard one of the waitresses talking about her face and having strokes and more disturbing details that nobody really wants to hear while they’re eating. I brushed it off the first time but I came again and heard her talking to more people about it and I don’t think it’s something that should be talked about loudly while customers are eating or even while waitressing at all? There’s sympathy there but I think it’s polite and a given to not discuss that...

Visited for lunch today, there were a dozen patrons there when we got there. Everyone was over 50y.o. The floors, tables chairs were all clean and neat. We seated ourselves and we're greeted promptly served shortly there after. Food was good ,water was good. They turned down the radio when we requested it. The staff was attentive. Prices and portions were good. We will go back ,for sure. Good to have this good experience after being opened up so recently. Menu text needs to be twice the size or offer magnifying glass.
