We had reservations this weekend for dinner. When we came in we told the person at the hostest desk we had reservations. She said she'd be right back. We waited a few minutes and she walked by with a tray of food to serve another table and came back. We said again we have reservations. After being seated our waitress who was very nice and polite took our drink and appetizer order. The restaurant was not even half full. After 50 minutes we didn't even have appetizers. A person from our party was trying to find our waitress to ask. Instead the original waitress that sat us walked up to our table and said to us with a tone "what do you want?" The person in my party said "well after 50 minutes our appetizers." The waitress responded "well we have a party of 18 who had reservations." To which my party replied "yes, so did we. You sat us and we told you we had a reservation." She goes into saying "well all these other tables (literally 5 other tables and 4 of them had only 2 people) came in without a reservation and we are backed up but I'll go tell the kitchen you're in a rush." The food itself was very good and our waitress was again very nice. But this other older female waitress was incredibly rude. I've honestly never been to a restaurant where a waitress spoke to guests like that. Maybe it was a bad day, maybe they are short staffed but that wasn't us the customers fault. We were completely in the right after waiting 50 minutes and still not having even appetizers to ask about them. A simple apology and hey we are short staffed/busy but I'll go check would have gone a long way and come off way better than to be so rude and act like we were putting her out and...
Read moreI called ahead for a reservation and told them we were celebrating my mom's 60th birthday. The host appeared to be dealing with an issue so we had a slight wait to be greeted. Upon being seated, it took 5-10mins for a server to come take our drink order. She was pleasant but no "welcome in, thanks for joining us, are we celebrating anything". We ordered the cheese board which was very good, but the runner didn't explain what any of the cheeses were and when we asked, she had a list that she could not read legibly so we never got a good explanation. My mom ordered the angel hair pasta which was very good, my filet was over cooked, more medium than medium rare but the potatoes and asparagus were good! We ordered dessert - the crème brûlée which, in our opinion was undercooked. It was watery and our server agreed with us. Upon bringing out checks, our server delivered a message from the chef that the dessert was in fact cooked correctly. I've had crème brûlée at true fine dining and it's never been watery... the reply came across as defensive and rude, a simple "we are sorry it wasn't cooked how you felt it should have been"
Not that either of us wanted or expected anything but an acknowledgment of "thanks for celebrating this birthday with us", we left the evening feeling...
Read moreGreat location, nice views, but we had problems. We had a reservation for a group of 11 at 7:15 and arrived on time to find no hostess at the hostess desk. A group of 4 was waiting in front of us. After waiting 10 minutes we hunted down a waitress who said that there was no hostess and that a waitress would be with us shortly. Finally got seated. staff was slow to take drink order and bring water pitchers. Food order took waaaayyyyy to long come out; took an hour from ordering to get food. Our group didnt order anything complicated, fish and chips, fish sandwich, walleye and halibut dinners; I dont know what took an hour, we were never given an explanation as to what was taking so long. When we questioned our server she replied that our food would be out when it was ready. We only got offered one drink refill in our nearly 2 hours there. Were not offered dessert. portions were small, prices were high. food was good, but not worth the delay and price. Too bad as the location and room...
