Honto Chinese Cuisine — Restaurant in Genoa Charter Township

Had to take 1 star away, food was average at best this time. Again, I asked for extra spicy and nothing. Rice was flat and tasteless this time. I asked for extra sauce on the side and of course they put it on top of my order without being wrapped separately, so everything spilled, come on. This happens all the time, how hard is it to wrap the extra sauce in plastic if your going to throw it on top of an order ???

First time and I have to say, better than most of the greasy, tasteless and thoughtless other Chinese places around the area. This place actually cares about the food they put out with good size portions. The chicken was lightly breaded, fried rice was excellent, and vegetables crispy. I didn't care for the steamed dumplings, could have had more flavor and the dinner could have been much more spicy like I asked for, that is why only 4 stars.

I will edit this once I get my food and eat it. But for now I’m doing 2 stars already because I did not like the service so far. All I did was call in for a carry out order and she sounded so rude and impatient with me. There was no friendliness at all and it seemed like she couldn’t wait to get off the phone with me. I know restaurant business is stressful but people are customers, maybe try and approach it that way? Again, I’ll edit this when I get my food.

edit I might have to keep this at 2 stars for carry out. Found some stray hairs in our boxes. And it was AS SOON as I opened them. So. My chicken fried rice was pretty salty. Like, I love my salt, but this was salty. Same with the almond gravy, very salty. The breading on the chicken was amazing though, but the chicken itself it’s like half of the chicken was tough and some was juicy. The wonton soup was AMAZING as well. I’d probably try this restaurant again in person instead...

We come all the way from Westland to eat here. Today we walked in and asked for lemon waters. Waitress said they had no lemons?? really??? last time we came we ordered the lunch size meal and the portion was small. This time we ordered the dinner size and it almost looked the same at least with the vegetarian meal one of us had. No dinner rolls which I was surprised and you only got either an egg roll OR soup. Most places we go to serve you both. One dinner came and the other about 10 min. later.......and it took quite while for me to get my pop. Normally it is the first thing that comes to the table. Food is very good but not worth the portion size. We had to wait for our bill and togo boxes as it was their lunchtime and they sat across aways getting their food to their table. Not once did we get asked how everything was or a coke refill. Will not be back. VERY Disappointed...better places out my way...not worth the...
