Our family has been to Airborne Brighton a few times now and it's a ton of fun for our 6 and 7 year old! However, there are a few areas that can be improved regarding the staff.
They did not seem to know how to troubleshoot well at the front desk. We had gift cards we were trying to use towards memberships and they all looked very puzzled as to how to do this. Overall, the front check in process takes quite a while which creates frustration for parents due to long waits and antsy kids. It was apparent that the front staff were frustrated/annoyed as well.
However, the bigger issue is inconsistency regarding enforcement of the rules. Some of the staff watched and said nothing as kids tied knots in the aerial silks (despite a sign that says not to do this) while others were strict about not doing this. Some staff allowed kids of all ages to be in the various bouncing areas; others strictly kept age groups separated as the signs dictate. I honestly did not know the rules for the age ranges/where they are supposed to go because the stated signs didn't match the ages of the kids there. I was just as confused as the kids. Also, several staff member rotated through the zip line area while we were there and many times they were not attentive to helping the kids. The kid or parent would need to walk over to get their attention to ask for help which caused issues multiple times as other kids used this as a chance to cut in line. They were not on their phones (which I highly commend!) but just kind of aloof. I do understand most of the staff are high school aged but perhaps better training and/or having at least one more experienced staff member present at all times would be helpful to all. The kids can't wait to go back and I'm crossing my fingers that the staff will be a bit more consistent in...
Read moreMy son's birthday party was an absolutely horrible experience. I mean, horrible. Staff members were nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find. Starting at check-in, we waited quite some time before even. seeing someone. They were FAR from enthusiastic, let alone even welcoming/smiling. They seemed as if we were bothering them. The fact that you say we had a party host is comical. You could never even find a staff member. To start, our pizza order was incorrect. Even after confirming our order the previous day. After, she dropped the pizzas off, she was NO WHERE, I mean NO WHERE, to be found. Nor was any employee for that matter. I spent the majority of my son's 5th birthday walking around trying to find someone to help us. We had NO drinks, even though I paid for them.....FINALLY found her to bring drinks by the time everyone was done eating. Not enough plates, cups or silverware. Again, couldn't find her. Then......no hand sanitizer. Gross. I paid OVER $600 for this. In addition, you called me the day prior to upgrade me to add ice cream cups.....I said ok, excited for the big day! Turns out, you were out of ice cream. Why call me then to upgrade? Oh, and you were out of pizza boxes....so you gave me a cardboard box from canned pop.......probably out of the garbage. It was absolutely disgusting. I will NEVER EVER host another party at Airborne. Your loss, because we have 4 kids. I was hopeful for a great experience and honestly, I want a full refund. Oh, and my child's birthday shirt (that we paid MORE money for, for the gold package) was a hot pink youth large because thats all you had left. My son is 5 years old........at least get him a shirt that can fit him, for the package we paid for. Horrible....
Read moreWent for my cousins birthday party. I ordered a slushie and it was 3.14 that's a pretty steep price but not bad. I asked someone to clean some tables off for our party to sit at and enjoy our drink and watch the children play. He came over and took the dirty napkins and plates away but didn't sanitize anything. Usually in the food service industry you SANITIZE as well as pick up. If your business decides to serve food you need to follow through with that kind of thing. Worst of all were the rules. The rules were about as long as a employee handbook. You would think a lawyer wrote it. Normally you would think "meh they just have it there to avoid lawsuits". They are always watching you and actively telling you "don't do that". Our entire birthday party was separated because they have age groups sectioned off. Parents couldn't play with their children and even some of the kids were separated.
The only redeeming thing about this place was a wonderful employee they had attending our party. She always had a smile on her face and kept interacting with the kids. She always asked if they would like more pizza or drinks and was very engaged. They also have a sweet 3 tier basketball hoops for you to dunk in and a pit full of foam to jump in.
There are other places similar to skyzone that have more relaxed rules and relaxed staff. Places where you can actually have fun. If safety is such a huge concern for your business you should consider other non physical type activities that wouldn't land you in court. Just a thought. I really won't blame this 2 stars on the staff because they are just doing their job. This is purely a review of a terrible business practice ruining what is supposed to be...
