Subway — Restaurant in Gentry

I visit this location fairly often. At first, I never had a negative experience but now, it seems things have changed. There are many flies in the dining area that just keep bothering you. Secondly, when ordering a sandwich and describing the veggies you want, if you say lettuce first, they will tell you “I’m going to wait until last so that it is easier to close”. While I do care about making their life easier, the whole point of Subway is to be able to create your sandwich how you want it. If I wanted someone else’s opinion, I would have went somewhere they didn’t ask what or how I wanted it on my sandwich. By putting the lettuce on last, the sandwich refuses to close if it has any at all on it and it all falls out. Today I went in and ordered as usual. I got to the veggie bar and requested lettuce first. I was greeted by an employee telling me that they would do it last because it was easier. I informed her that while that may be the case, it is much easier to eat if it is on the bottom. She “politely” argued with me for a minute before doing as I wished. It is just frustrating. This was the BEST Subway ever. At first, I was frazzled! The app wasn't working so I ran inside to ask for help. Michael and Candice were working upfront. Michael was trying to help me with the app, b/c I had a BOGO coupon I wanted to use, but the app crashed everytime I tried to check out. Candice found a coupon at the register for me that had a better deal than the BOGO!! They were both so kind and patient. They truly had the BEST customer service skills you could ask for!! The food was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was sparkling clean. I arrived at this Subway feeling tired and anxious, but because of the way Michael and Candice took such great care of me, I left feeling happy and calm. My family had a delicious meal and the day was saved! It is really gross, flies, all over the food, in the cambrioes, cookies that were out had flies on it a customer behind me told them,talked about it the whole time girl made my sandwich. I did not see them throw the food out or say sorry, or even act like they would toss the food. Service was blah. Theres a dark hair lady with glasses, acts very rude, she won't offer to help or clean a table, I seen her open the ice lid on the soda machine and put a big frozen block of ice and leave it sit on top of the opening and walk away?? Not sure what purpose that serves but to let the flies in the ice as well and myself on lunch and a family at another table commented about how it was an accident waiting for it to fall on the next customer hoping to get a drink.
