The food here is generally good, but the counter help not so much. Last night I placed an order online using Tony’s app. The app said the order would be ready about 5:40pm. I arrived at 5:35pm and was told the pizzas were still in the oven (ok, expected). I took a seat on the bench opposite the counter. I watched people come and go, picking up their call-in orders. At 5:50 I went back up to the counter and then was told oops, we didn’t make the pizzas. We’re doing it now. At 6:15 I again went back to the counter and was told, after I said just give me a refund and I’ll go somewhere else, they’re cutting the last pizza. So at 6:20 I finally walked out with my two small pizzas and a salad. They must think I was stupid: I know it takes 5 minutes or so in those volcanically hot ovens to cook a pizza. So they lied to me at least twice. What really bugged me was I had to repeatedly go back to the counter to ask. The staff person either didn’t have the “capacity” to check on my order herself every few minutes, or she didn’t care. All the while I’m sitting on that bench straight in front of them where they KNOW I’m waiting for SOMETHING. Either way, not a...
Read moreOK, so I'm a transplant here and a local told me I had to try this place. So my wife and I went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It's one of those places you walk in, order and pay and have a seat and they bring food over. It took close to 10 minutes just to order and there was only 1 or 2 people ahead of us. We order a small cheese pie and meatball hero ..... simple enough, right. So we sit down and wait ... and wait, and wait. About 15 minutes of sitting our drinks are brought over. The receipt they give you is time stamped and my wife and I keep looking at the time. 34 minutes later a small cheese pie is brought over and waitress says she will bring over the hero when it is ready. Not sure why it would take longer than 34 minutes for a basic hero to be prepared but ..... Get this, it took another 18 minutes, that's right a total of 52 minutes for us to get a meatball hero. Seriously. On the positive side the pizza was decent and the staff was very friendly ...... but doubt I will go back any time soon. Maybe I'm still on Northern time but I can't see how anyone would find waiting almost an hour for a basic meatball...
Read moreThis pizza place has been raved about by our friends. We got takeout pizza once, and I thought it was okay. Maybe because we are from New England, we have different preferences for our pizza. However, we got subs another time and thought they were some of the best we've had.
The one complaint that I have us that when they are busy, customer service is not a priority. I placed an order in their website for pickup and was instructed that my food should be ready within 20-30 minutes. When I arrived 30 minutes later, I was told that somehow the order had just gotten to them and that I would have to wait another 60-90 minutes because they were so busy. When I told them that waiting up to two hours when I had been told that it would be 30 minutes was unacceptable. In turn, they offered to cancel my order. It will be a long time before I go back to Tony's, despite their...
