Grew up eating biscuit barn. Makes me feel proud to be from around here. I always loved showing people my favorite breakfast spot and it still brings back memories of my dad leaving me a biscuit in our microwave for me to wake up to on the weekends.
My granddad, back when he could drive, would come up to hickory pig (their other restaurant in the same building) and get a cup of pulled pork with no sauce just about every single day.
These are good people that run these shops and they make damn good food. A lot has changed around this area since I was little, but biscuit barn has stayed the same good prices, good people, and good food ever since.
It's not for everyone but my favorite meal is a fried spam biscuit, a butter biscuit, and an oj. Sometimes I'll get me a pb&j biscuit or even a chicken biscuit and put some peanut butter on it. Nothing makes me feel as good as opening up that paper sack and pulling out a fresh hot biscuit in the morning.
No matter what you fill it with, or even if you like it plain, I hope you'll come give this place a try and maybe it'll become part of your lifelong memories too. Maybe nostalgia has something to do with it but no matter what city, state, or country I'm in... I aint never had a biscuit make me smile as big or feel as good as one from the...
Read moreI've ate here once a year for the past 15 years (maybe?) and it remains as mediocre as it ever was. The Biscuit Barn does nothing well. IMO each menu item ranks last in the Gainesville/Hall County area. I live nearby, and I can't make it my go-to biscuit joint. The place is in an out-building which somehow passes inspection and the drive through is indeed one of the slowest you'll encounter. But it's the food that is the absolute weakest part of this hillbilly shack/restaurant. The biscuits are cakey and spongy and taste of loaf bread. They are not flakey or buttery. The soft spongy biscuit soaks up gravy which makes a mess on your plate as you fork out the soft spongy mess. They are big too, a big spongy loaf bread biscuit. The gravy is too creamy and too peppery and doesn't taste homemade from sausage grease. I've had their grits of all flavors and they need salt...lots of it too. I recommend everyone to just make the extra drive to Longstreet Cafe where the food is so much better and drive thru MUCH faster. If The Biscuit Barn can find success with poor food in a virtually uncleanable garden shed, ANYONE else should also be capable of beating this place out of business. Somebody, PLEASE, give this hole some...
Read moreBiscuit barn is open from 4 AM till 11 AM drive-through only located across the Thompson Bridge Kroger. I went there the first time this morning around 9 o’clock. Got me a small coffee, egg and cheese biscuit and an orange juice. Orange juice was fresh tasted like it was freshly squeezed. I have to try other breakfast variety that they have. I had a breakfast place called Reed’s in Maryville and they’re gone so this is the next local place that I can get breakfast at. Also try Longstreet Café, which is in Gainesville. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. They’re also good too But since this is really close to my house, I had to get me some breakfast this morning and they’re really good come by and give them a try. I think I spent around eight dollars...
