Sun Garden — Restaurant in Gainesville

This was my first time eating at this place. I live about 15 minutes away and tried to call in my order while i was on my way.

When i placed my order and ask for fried rice, I was asked what kind of fried rice. I told the woman that I had never been asked that before and had no idea. She went down the list...beef, pork, chicken, etc. I picked chicken.

She told me there would be an additional $5.00 charge for the fried rice. I told her that i didn't want the $5.00 rice with my $14.00 dollar entree. I wanted the regular fried rice that always comes with chinese food that doesn't cost $5.00.

So after all of that and being on the phone with this woman for 10 minutes, she says, "We have to have your credit card number before you can place your order." I told her that I was driving and couldn't get my card out at the moment. She told me that she wouldn't put in my order until i paid. I told her again that i couldn't because I was driving but would be there in 5 minutes.She told me that she couldn't take my order.

I told her that i wasn't placing an order anymore bc i would order it when i got there. She told me that I wouldn't be able to do that. I explained again that i would be there in 5 minutes and would place a new order. I hung up.

Immediately my phone rang back and it was the Chinese restaurant lady calling me. She said, "Did you want to place an order?"

WTH?

I asked her why she was calling me. She asked me again if i wanted to place my order. I told her that she had already made it clear that i could not place an order without giving her my credit card number. She told me that was correct.

So i asked her the obvious question again, "WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME?" To which she replied, "I thought maybe you changed your mind."

Crazy town aside, I hoped that maybe the food would be really good. It wasn't. No flavor, bland and the chicken was rubbery. I feel like I wasted my money and my time and I was completely exhausted by the time I got my food. I will never go back to this place. So...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a wonderful Chinese restaurant in Gainesville, GA, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm atmosphere that felt both inviting and authentic. The menu was extensive, offering a delightful array of choices that made it difficult to decide what to order. We settled on a few classic dishes: the Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, and some crispy Spring Rolls to start. Each dish was crafted to perfection. The Kung Pao Chicken packed just the right amount of spice, while the Sweet and Sour Pork was a beautiful balance of flavors—tender and juicy, with a delightful crunch. The Spring Rolls were a fantastic start, leaving us wanting more! The service was exceptional. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, offering suggestions and ensuring our drinks were never empty. You could tell that the staff took pride in their work, which really enhanced our dining experience. What truly stood out was the attention to detail—not just in the food but in the overall ambiance of the restaurant. The decor was a lovely nod to Chinese culture, with lovely artwork and the aroma of fresh ingredients wafting through the air, making it an enjoyable place to dine. To top it all off, our meal was incredibly affordable for the quality we received. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that not only serves delicious food but also cares about providing an outstanding experience for its customers. Doordash doesn't deliver to my area sadly! So I looked who was delivering near me! Pizza hut, Papa John's the other Chinese restaurants had BAD reviews! So I chose to get Sun Garden delivered and happy I did cause they got my order right and everything. Delivery guy and staff was really kind and the Mongolian beef GREAT a 9.5! I was saving it for my man but ate all the beef it was good!😂😂 Sweet and sour chicken was ok a 9. Wonton soup ok a 9. Fried rice is a 10! Egg rolls were a 10! I never like eggrolls from ANY place. But I love their eggroll dough it's soft and more dough-like has a really nice texture. Other Chinese places eggrolls are super greasy and veggies inside taste old and are gross but these tasted pretty warm and fresh. Their fried noodles chips were PERFECT mm gimmie more now👄! Yay Good job Sun Garden! Appreciate your food workers! Anytime they putting effort and care into your food. Thanks so much to sun Garden I hope you guys keep up yours work ethics cause other delivery restaurants(Pizzerias and Chinese) nearby aren't ! (According to google reviews). I ordered Dominios the other day and regretted it cause Domino's food tasted old, their wings weren't cooked all the way, and just tasted nasty. Domino's wasn't worth the 20$ I paid. but sun Garden was worth the 25$ I paid. I also did not see a roach in my food or red sauce so hopefully there wasn't!!😂😭

Apparently Sundays they charge more!!! I thought they were scamming me cause I ordered the day before but they're not just letting...
