I was extremely disappointed with my service on my visit, which was Monday 8/28. Carter's usually has a very friendly team of people working and they are pretty consistent. However, on this particular day my visit started off fine during my initial order. The cashier was friendly and I ordered 3 baked chicken dinners that included breasts. I paid for my order and had a seat to wait for completion. While waiting I decided on a mix chicken dinner I had ordered to specify what pieces if applicable (I requested a breast and leg). The cashier called it back and it was agreed. A while later I heard a call from the kitchen about holding on breasts. No one communicated anything to me, so I didn't think I was affected since my orders had already been placed prior and that it was for upcoming orders. I continued to wait as I dabbled on my smartphone. Eventually, I heard someone from the kitchen say still waiting on the bake chicken orders to determine what their doing concerning chicken substitutions ( of course it wasn't worded/phrased that way, but that's what they meant). Initially, I ordered a 1 piece breast dinner, a 2pc breast dinner and a 2pc mixed dinner, that included a breast and leg, so substituting extra legs on mostly white meat dinners weren't suffice. The cashier even responded that it wasn't communicated that way to her and apologized for the inconvenience. I inquired how long and it would be another hour and remember I had already paid and been sitting waiting for a period of time. Effective communication is pivotal to the success of a business. I wasn't disappointed with the customer service, but how the situation was handled from back of house to front of house. I was given a refund, but I had wasted precious time on food I wasn't able to receive because the chicken wasn't available and there was a lack of EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION in this establishment. I left empty handed and frustrated. I drove from the South Westover Blvd area near the fairgrounds in Albany to Carter's to order food for a sick relative. I chose baked chicken instead of fried because of their special diet. Afterwards, I decided to call back and speak to a manager to express my dismay and concerns. It was difficult to hear with all the noise in the background of Carter's from my end, so I'm sure she didn't hear everything I expressed. I did hear her comment that she had just came in at 5 and they always run out of bake chicken during that particular time. In my mind, I don't wanna hear what you always do because it sounds as if your not truly prepared for your 5 o'clock rush if you always run out of the same menu item daily at the same time. Someone else should really examine this particular issue and correct it. I asked when the GM or owner would be available named Sam and unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to contact him because my sick relative is now in the hospital and my schedule is hectic. Despite having rave reviews from others and I too usually having satisfactory or better experiences here, I truly hope this is both seen and read by an individual that can make corrective changes because there's always room for improvement in any type of business including...
Read moreToday was my family and I and anyone else we know LAST day at Carter's. We've been coming here for a while. Matter of fact we just spent $40 on food here for our family. We have a very Large side of Mac n cheese and a regular side IT IS SPOILED AND BITTER, CANNOT EVEN BE CHEWED WE IMMEDIATELY SPIT IT OUT. I stay an Hour away. I call them they say I'm sorry they couldn't exchange anything unless I drive back and exchanged and it had to be today only. She said we just changed the Mac and cheese out so they KNEW it was spoiled when they sold it to us. I won't let that ruin my family and I day even though we wasted money here. You should do better by your customers. I've had issues before here but this time it's a wrap. Beware of tainted testing meat and apparently there use of expired/spoiled foods being used. I can't trust the cleanliness or safety there EVER again. You have to be careful how you treat others. I want the best for your business but when it's ran like this there's always KARMA. That was ridiculous. Don't tell me you're sorry and do absolutely NOTHING to rectify the situation. Take my name down or anything SMH. Don't waste your time. Cook your own food and you'll know it's fresh and clean. I don't want any of this now. I can't even get this nasty spoiled taste out of my mouth. I would love to see you eat this. I'm sure everyone who ordered had this same...
Read moreThe ladies at the window are always friendly. I always order the liver dinner and ask for it to be soft fried. They always work with you if there is a mix up with your order, which there rarely is, and this is so refreshing coming from a "fast-food" restaurant. There are nothing but smiles and cheap prices here. I don't like all of their sides but its no big deal. Their banana pudding is oddly delicious. I've never liked banana pudding without bananas, because what banana pudding doesn't have bananas? However, there's is so good to me. It's crust is thick and tastes like vanilla wafers, and the pudding itself is sweet, creamy, and slightly whipped. Sometimes I take it home and add my own bananas. The only thing I hate is their drive thru. I also wish they would upgrade their building and location because it is so cramped and chaotic in that drive-thru. When you pull of from receiving your order, you're met with traffic at a stop sign. Sometimes you can't pull up enough for the customers behind you waiting to receive their order. If you know, you know (to my locals). However, otherwise, this place offers great...
