El Maya — Restaurant in Georgia

This place gets worse every time we go back! We recently visited with a large party and, unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The menu as usual is limited, leaving us with few options to choose from, and everything seemed overpriced. We were surprised by the extra charges for items that are often included at other places, and an automatic 18% gratuity was added, regardless of the quality of service. The drinks were weak, and the food quality didn't meet our expectations at all. Our entire party was so dissatisfied that we are now searching for a new go-to spot. Would not recommend for group outings or those looking for a good value. One person in our party was charged $2.50 for some jalapeños they never ordered. And not to mention, the waiter was not nice. They can forget about us returning. My husband and I just went to our favorite restaurant last weekend, Molcajetes in Albany. We ordered a pitcher of Margarita that gave us 4 drinks each and we got a good buzz, chorizo dip and a meal each and only spent $80 with tip. At El Maya we got two margaritas each that were so weak, chorizo dip that was barely enough for the two of us, and we shared a meal, $100+!!! 😲😲😲 Others in our party were shock about...

I have a family of four. We ordered our drinks. And just sat waiting for someone to come take our order for food. 15 min later we finally got to order our food. 50 min later what’s supposed to be kids chicken strips and fries come out. It honestly looked like hard fried pork chops. 10 min later our guacamole and guacamolo comes out. No matter what, the recipe should not change for authentic guacamole. One looked like baby food and the other looked like guacamole . At this point 1 hr and 15 min. I’m over it. So I cancelled the 6 tacos we ordered and sent back the baby food and just paid for this kids meal and husbands guacamolo. I was going to just take my loss with making sure my family ate and find something on my way home. Then the waitress indirectly says well every restaurant wait time was pretty long tonight. I don’t care about every restaurant. I cared about my wait time after noticing the party of four who walked in after me were leaving before us and the couple that just came in 30 min ago that just walked out with their food while we are still paying for piss poor...

Although we have eaten at this establishment many times I have never left a review. We usually try to get our regular server Brooke because we absolutely love her!! Even when we aren’t able to sit in her section she ALWAYS makes it a point to stop by to make sure to say hi and to see if we have everything we need. Tonight we visited with a party of 20 on her night off. I definitely have to compliment the two servers who waited on us….JESSICA AND JAKE! They worked great together as a team to stay on top of everything we needed as well as wait on other tables! When a problem came up they were extremely quick to take care of it! I also have to give a shout out to the manager JAUN!!! He has always been very professional and patient. We have never been there when we didn’t see him greet every table to make sure his customers are enjoying their visit. If there is a problem he will do his best to fix it! He is definitely an asset to the establishment!! I will absolutely recommend El maya...
