Best chinese in the islands. This little restaurant may be small, but it packs a huge menu. My wife and I have been eating here for years, and their quality (and quantity) of food has always been consistently good.
My favorite menu item is the curry beef with steamed rice. Perfect blend of beef, onions, green pepper and excellent curry sauce. 2nd favorite is the mushu pork.
My wife likes the pepper steak, the jalapeno chicken, and mongolian beef, all with the wonton soup.
No matter what you order you will get alot for the buck.
Restaurant is conveniently located in the center of Wilmington island.
Out of all our experiences we only had one error, and that's when my wife ordered the jalapeno chicken and asked for no mushrooms (because shes allergic to them) and they forgot to take out the mushroom. She called to let them know and they immediate brought her a fresh correct order out to where we were on Tybee. This alone qualifies them for a 5 star.

Read moreStay away from the orange-peel beef!!!
I’m giving Chef Wan a four-star because of the fast efficient and friendly service. I was quoted 45 minutes to an hour for delivery and it arrived in under 30 minutes hot and ready to eat. The crab Rangoon’s are delicious and the chicken lo mein is very tasty -I would order both of these again, however, the orange peel beef is not edible! It was the most expensive dish I ordered and cannot even swallow. Iis not like any other orange peel dish I have had at any other Chinese restaurant and I am extremely disappointed as I am a regular at Chef Wan.
Not only does it not resemble anything orange, it did not have any orange peel in it and the sauce was a soupy, runny, red with any hint of any type of Chinese flavor - so hard to describe, so I ‘ll just say stay away from the...
Read morePay no mind to the the old hateful reviews. Total BS. This is a great place to get your take-out Chinese food! Of all the items on the menu, their Hot and Sour Soup is outstanding. It is very much unlike the rest of the offerings in Savannah as it has a unique clean and zesty freshness. Not sure how they achieved such great flavor, but I do know they do use cilantro and possibly lemongrass. SOOOO good! The fried rice is classic and delicious, not suspiciously yellow. The Lo Mein is also excellent. The entree meats are really tender, although maybe steer away from the "chicken-on-a-stick". They use breast cuts which ends up dry and leathery. Other places use dark cuts, such as thigh meat, which is my first choice when doing chicken in any format. Overall Chef Wan is THE...
