The food was priced too high for what it is. We ordered the arrachera, 2 enchiladas verdes plates, huarache de asada, and 2 mini-taco kids plates with rice and beans. First off the service was poor. The menu didn't have the price for the kids menu items, and when I asked the waitress she said she couldn't tell me because she didn't know and the price was in the system. Why she couldn't go ask the manager is beyond me. To add to that she asked me if I wanted them to be steak, and when I asked for one of them to be lengua she said that she would have to charge me the mini-tacos de lengua as a side item because the kids version only comes as asada. What frustrated me is that she didn't explain herself until after giving me the option to choose the meat. Why give me the option then?! She should have started out by telling me straight up that they normally only come as asada, but if that I wanted another meat choice then it would have to be charged the other way. Don't give me the option and then expect me to know the menu. The menu doesn't refer to the meat coming in the kids tacos, the kids menu is just literally right under the taco meat selection and says that they come with rice and beans, that's it. Then a lot of the pictures that are on here for this restaurant's google profile are not accurate, and when we asked her what plates were in the pictures she informed us that she doesn't know because they didn't serve that. So you can't trust all of the images uploaded here. After we received our food, she never checked on us to see if we needed more napkins or more drink - which we totally did with 2 kids. Then we waited for a whole 15 mins for the check because she wouldn't cone over to our table and spent a lot of time in the back and only coming out when new customers came in and servicing them. That's fine, service the new customers, but you need to remember about those that are already there. We had to ask another waitress to bring us our check so that we could leave. The green enchiladas were stuffed with dry chicken that didn't absorb much flavor of whatever the red sauce was inside, almost like dry tinga. The arrachera steak was tough, chewy, and had no seasoned flavor. The rice was really dry. I tried soaking some in my charro beans, which were the only pretty decent part of my plate, but that didn't really work either. The fried plantains weren't very good either, I'm not sure why they weren't sweet, but even my son who loves them wanted to spit them out. They were very bland. We spent about $100, and that with no extra drink refills on our Jamaica or horchata, and the kids plates were $6 each. I've been a waitress before, and I know that once you've been a waitress, you tend to look for the same standards you were held to, and this place definitely had poor customer service. You treat others the way you would like to be treated. Not like this. The manager I spoke with didn't even apologize for anything when I explained to her how long we were waiting for the check. We're definitely not going back. Good luck for those of you who try...
Read moreThe atmosphere is the best thing about this place. Great wall art and decor- very consistent theme. Music was also very suited to the environment. However, I canât look over the 2-hour wait time for a meal. Lack of communication about where our food was in the process and disappointment with the appetizers made the wait so much longer, missing one of two requested sauces and being attended to very late. Lack of appetizer chips when waiting for longer than an hour is unacceptable. 1 basket of chips in 2 hours is not normal. I understand being busy, but 1 basket and not receiving any communication is an issue. I donât blame the waitress, she was great, very sweet and kind. I just think the practice when it comes to chips should change; that small change would bring such a major improvement to the experience. I understand the reasoning behind the long wait, and I believe theyâre doing the best they can. Itâs just with a wait time like that that the chips need to be flying. This establishment has been open for multiple years, I assume, and with that much experience, you should know how long your wait times get during holidays/celebrations and work around it, like maybe adding one or two extra hands on certain celebrations or holidays. The food was great, however, too many of the external factors hampered its enjoyment. Some of the meals I ordered did come in cold due to the wait, but the main part was hot. Far too pricey for the long wait and how long the meal actually took to eat. Some of the servings did not match the price, like the fries coming in an incredibly small portion and the cheese dip costing around 7-8 dollars. Does this place make the list of places to return to? No. Does it make the list of places not to return to because of poor food? No. It makes the list of places not to return to due to being far too high-priced for whatâs given, long wait times with no communication, and being far too stringent with the chips. Iâm harping on the chip issue, but only because it encompasses all the...
Read moreJust walked in and walked out. Sat down to the waitress telling us they close in 20 mins when it was only 8:30pm? Their hours on google say they close at 10 and so does their door? When we asked her if they really closed at 10 or why all of a sudden so early?
She rudely responded that it gets dark at 9 now?So we told the waitress thank you and stepped out.
we decided to come in because it would give us enough time to eat without being rushed, we literally checked google to find a Mexican restaurant in the area that would be open at least until 10 to give us time to eat with our kids
Adding on since it will not allow me to respond to the business comment in the review:
WOOOW you have the audacity to say I had an issue with your prices? Absolutely not. My issue was the fact that I was handed the menu and informed immediately that you closed in twenty minutes at 8:30 pm right after you cleaned the table from underneath us that was dirty. I decided to opt out certain things from my original review , including the discomfort your establishment is - like the fact there wasnât any ac running and we had a fan directly behind us. Or the fact the restaurant had a weird stench. I decided to exclude that from my review out of courtesy. However you can not LIE on here. Itâs absurd how you guys think you can excuse your embarrassment of âcustomer serviceâ with false accusations. You must have me confused with someone else, show me the footage that clearly shows us having little to no time to view the menu. No questions asked about food, prices or anything. Otherwise thereâs absolutely no need for the defamation of...
