First, let me start by saying that I’m an Argentinian who moved to the US when I was 8. I know good Argentinian/Uruguayan food, and growing up, one of the things I missed most were the empanadas, the milanesas, the churrasquitos — and, as someone with a monstrous sweet tooth — especially the facturas. Sigh. I shudder to think of the long stretches of time I’d go without a cup of coffee with a good medialuna, cañoncito, or milhojas on the side.
Luckily, for the last eight years, I don’t have to go that long without the taste of home. I live about an hour away from Panadería Criolla, but I’ll make the drive without an ounce of hesitation any time the craving hits me. This place is as real as it gets. From the cappuccinos to the choripanes to the empanadas to the facturas, every option on the menu tastes exactly as it would in Buenos Aires. Over the past couple of years, some more Argentinian bakeries have popped up, but many of their offerings have been Americanized. Good for business, but disappointing to those of us looking for the real thing. If you’re looking for delicious AND authentic, I’m happy to report that your search, like mine, is finally over. And, as a bonus, the service is top notch; the staff is warm, helpful, and fun to chat with.
In short, if you live anywhere in the metro Atlanta area, put this place at the top of your list. Worth the drive, decently priced, and perfectly authentic. Always looking forward to...
Read moreWow this place! I’m obsessed. I went to visit yesterday for the first time. Took my computer to work there. Lujan greeted me at the counter. Made me AMAZING coffee. I had some facturas (pastries) then some alfajores. Got another coffee… I didn’t want to leave. Had to pick up my partner so I took her some pastries and also a milanesa… WOW it was AMAZING. I shared some of the goodies with her coworkers and they LOVED IT! We had some stuff for breakfast today lol and we were sad that we ran out. I know eating this everyday is not good so thank goodness I live in Roswell because if not I would have gone today too. Lujan and the other staff were so cool and kind. I will be back to buy mate cause I wanted to start drinking it. My dad’s from Uruguay but lives in Miami and this made me feel a piece of his heart with me.

Read moreWe absolutely loved our experience at this Argentinian bakery in Atlanta! The coffee was incredible—rich, smooth, and perfectly paired with the pastries. The sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. Service was warm and attentive, making us feel right at home.
Our favorite treats were definitely the dulce de leche croissants and the sugar croissants—they were out of this world! In fact, we loved everything so much that we went twice: once on our second day in town and again right before leaving, just to stock up on more pastries and coffee.
Thank you for such an authentic and delicious experience. This spot will definitely be a must-visit for us every time we come...
