Before I placed order, I asked cashier if they sold “fufu” she asked me to repeat my question three times. Then she respond by asking “do you see that flag outside....we’re Jamacian. That’s African food.” I apologized for the offense that’s was taken. So instead I ordered curry goat and pineapple ginger drink. Walked out slightly satisfied.
I test out the pineapple ginger drink and disliked it. It has a very strong ginger taste. I genuinely didn’t taste any pineapple. I went back to get a trade for fruit punch instead.
Walk back inside, but no cashier. I rang the assistant bell that was at the desk. No answer. Tapped it a bit harder, but still no answer. Hesitation to ring it again.... but still no answer. Last couple of rings and I finally get an answer. More like a rude awakening.
Cashier comes out saying, “why you gotta bang on the bell so hard?” I replied, “That’s my fourth time ringing the bell.” Cashier stated... “I can see you on the camera, I know you were there. I’m walking back and forth but I been seen you there....what is it?”
If rude was a person, it’d be islands takeaway’s cashier. After letting it be known that I wanted fruit punch instead of the pineapple ginger, She asks me “Why” and I explained that the ginger overpowers the pineapple making it too strong.
In conclusion, I walked out with the replaced fruit punch and a frown. I’m 13 years into a family business called “Stem’s Cafe” located @ 3777 Campbellton Rd Atlanta, GA 30331 named after “Stembridge” and we don’t run business that way. You should come by and gain some hospitality from us or other business owners in Atlanta, because your business has absolutely none. Customer service was awful, but my order was tasty. I’ll just have someone buy mines next time from this place. I definitely won’t do business...
Read moreThis was my first time trying their food and at first I felt promise, because when I called to order the lady was very polite and quick with taking my order. But as I arrived, there were two women behind the counter (one at register which is the one I assumed took my phone order who was polite, and one sitting to the side on the phone) unfortunately the kind lady asked the lady on the phone to ring me up because she had something else to take care of, the lady on the phone did not acknowledge me whatsoever, she didn’t smile or engage in conversation with me at all minus telling me to choose whether to tip or not (haha) smh. She didn’t show me my plate and when I asked her to and informed her it was my first time here she just opened it and closed it, nothing more or less, I had to ask her for a bag and fork, and she didn’t have enough change to close me out, she counted out 23 pennies to give to me (which I kindly declined) and proceeded to walk away. So customer service, is a 0 from her.
The food is “okay” I ordered a plate of brown stew chicken (it only comes in one size for 7.95 which isn’t bad and the size is very nice) but the food wasn’t very “carribean” to me nor did my brown STEW have gravy at all, and none was offered on the side. The veggies were fresh though. But I don’t think I’ll be referring them to anyone or coming back to order. I feel played honestly.
I have pics of my food to verify the “look” I’m just unsure how to upload them...
Read moreI rarely do reviews! Needless to say, my experience with this restaurant is piss poor. They come to my job & sell plates. I'm not sure the name of the worker, but she was extremely rude & disrespectful. There was an issue with my pre-paid order and I guess I had "too many" questions for them. What I don't understand is how you can take someone's money and then treat them poorly. They have a horrible ordering system, and that's why I was asking questions. What is the point of ordering food ahead of time, only to be told you've ran out of food? It's completely pointless. The reason workers pre-order is to avoid the long lines, that take forever to get down. What was happening, was they were serving the people in line instead of fulfilling the orders that they "ASK" you to do online to avoid the line. Plenty of vendors set up shop at my place of employment and I have had ZERO problems! They'll never get my money again. Let alone get an opportunity to talk to me the way they did. I had to remind myself that I was at work. Customers aren't always right! That is a fact. But not one time was I rude or disrespectful. I understand how it is working in service, but this was...
