There were so many delicious options that it was hard to choose at first, but thanks to the sweet and helpful ladies up front, we didn’t stay undecided for long. We started with the nachos, and let me just say…every single chip was covered. No empty bites here!
For our entrées, we went with the hamburger steak and the 16-ounce ribeye. We chose some non-traditional sides; slaw, fried cauliflower, fried pickles, and finished with a slice of homemade peanut butter cake. Every side was packed with flavor, and the portions were huge. Nothing felt skimpy. Every plate was generous.
The hamburger steak was hearty and flavorful, but that ribeye…wow. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection, so tender it practically melted in your mouth. And the peanut butter cake? Just like I imagined. The homemade icing tasted like something straight off my grandmama’s porch; pure comfort and nostalgia.
Even better? For the amount of food we got, the flavor, and the all-around experience, the price was incredibly reasonable. Nothing felt overpriced at all—just the opposite.
Service was outstanding from start to finish, and every staff member we encountered made the visit even better. Don’t sleep on this hidden gem. We’ll...
Read moreI heard about how awesome this place was so we drove an hour South to check it out. We walked in the door and were starred at, so we assumed to just seat ourselves. The 2 servers were working 4 tables together, I'm unsure why we had to ask for a refill on our drinks after waiting almost 30 min for our food. Oh wait - it was because one of the servers decided to go outside and hang with her friends ar the picnic tables while the other server was having issues with the credit card machine resetting. I ordered the ruben, which did not have corned beef on it. It had some of kind of philly cheesesteak meat on it with a slap of thousand island dressing on it. (I didn't dare send it back.) Also had a side of poppers - 4 frozen, part breaded jalapeño pieces, filled with fake cheese. My partner had a burger, which looked great when it came out. Looking closer, the beef patty had went to hell and back, which explains the 25 minute wait for our food. The fried pickles were good. Maybe it was just a bad day down there, but it is a whole big nope on a...
Read moreWe stopped in while in town because we wanted to try a local restaurant. The place is small but it has a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was all super friendly and helpful with deciding what we should order. Our appetizer was chili cheese fries. It was a small yet perfectly sized portion for two! We ordered a reuben and a mushroom Swiss burger, added on onion rings and tater tots, for our meal. All the food was absolutely delicious! We hardly conversed while eating. It was THAT tasty! Service was quick, and our orders were accurate. While there, we were blessed with Justin's presence. He stopped by briefly and was such a sweet, gentle spirit! When you visit, make sure you read the back of the menu. You'll understand why I said we were blessed to meet him. If you find yourself in need of delicious sustenance and a friendly, cozy atmosphere while in Thomaston, this is the place to go! Trust me! What are you waiting for? Get on over there and see...
