This is a review for College Cookies and Stoner's Pizza since apparently they are both in the same building. I used Uber Eats to buy a few cookies from College Cookies. The pictures on the Uber Eats page showed pretty premium cookies, like you'd find at Crumbl. I ordered three cookies and used GPS to find the store. When I arrived, there was NO sign of College Cookies anywhere. I walked around the building, and into the next shopping center, still no sign of the place. I called the phone number and surprisingly the pizza joint straight ahead of me, picked up the phone. She said, "We're all the same business. You gotta come inside." Alright, fine. So, I walked across the parking lot again, up to the broken front door, and asked if my cookies were ready. I was the only person there. She said, "I need to see your order." I pulled out my phone and she said, "We don't have chocolate chip cookies, I'll give you two of the white raspberry." "That's fine," I said. I thought my order of 3 cookies would be ready when I arrived, but she said I had to wait 15 more minutes. So, I walked around the parking lot a few more times, went back inside, and watched her box my cookies. I got back into my car and took a look. These cookies were a JOKE! Literally, three sugar cookies with a small squirt of some sugar-based jelly and red food coloring to make it raspberry. These cookies were tiny, and served on a sheet of tin foil inside of a small pizza box, which, by the way, cookies that cool on foil tend to stick to the foil. So, not only did I spend $9 on sugar cookies with jelly, I couldn't even eat them because they crumbled trying to get them off the foil. Oh, I also asked if I could order some wings while I was there. Guess what.... they were out of those too. This is my second attempt at eating Stoner's Pizza. My first was the downtown location and the pizza was so terrible, I didn't even ask for a refund. I just left and tossed it in the trash on the way to my car. This location is the Georgetown joint, and by far, the condition of the inside of the place is horrendous. It takes no more effort to make good food, than it does to make bad food. Get it together, Stoner's. You're headed for disaster if you don't...
Read moreNow under new management, the service is no longer good. I ordered a delivery which never arrived from door dash and I was unable to reach the driver at all. This was not within their control, understandably, so I attempted to contact the store over a dozen times for a half hour. They didn't bother answering the phone so I drove in, something I didn't want to do in the first place (which is the point of why I ordered delivery). I was met with nothing but attitude from the only person there. I was offered either a refund or a remake of my meal. I wanted a refund. The next day I can't in to complain, not about the failed delivery but about the horrible customer service. It was the same person which was apparently the general manager. When I worked it there was someone above her that I could speak to, she lied and told me there wasn't. A few minutes later she was on the phone complaining to someone about me that showed up (her boss) that it was escalated to. The customer experience did not improve, it merely continued to degrade. When I told him that my last visit was great service, he asked me, "was it because there were white people here?" I was stunned at his racist comment. Never have I ever had such a terrible experience with a restaurant. Terrible service.
Update: 9/21/2024
No improvement of service at this location. I ordered a pizza at this location for pickup (I no longer trust this location with delivery). 25 minutes after ordering I went into the store. My pizza had yet to be started (it's already past 9pm). I ordered the inflation buster.
I didn't get my sweet tea, none were left. Nor were any tea. The only alternatives were soda, I don't drink soda, so I didn't have any. My 1 topping pizza was supposed to be a pepperoni. I paid extra to have olives on half as well. No pepperoni so I paid for half a topping. And I wasn't given marina sauce for my breadsticks.
Without any improvement, management has failed completely at this location. Never returning...
Read moreHave visited this eatery 4 times now at the Effingham location and the food is great. Me and a few friends eat in everytime. The place has alot of potential if someone managed them. The pizza and stromboli are top notch, although there just seems to be a lord of the flies type atmosphere. There are way too many workers behind the counter, all very young. This wouldn't usually be an issue, but it just seems there is no management. The music was too loud and I could not hear the cashier. I noticed the speaker for the stereo was directly above my head. The restaurant needs some TLC as I know it is fairly new but you can see the restaurant showing signs of neglect. The restroom needed some cleaning and there was no toilet tissue (thankfully I didn't need it). It is as if there are no paper supplies in the business except pizza boxes that were stack approximately 7 feet high blocking the view of the gentlemen making the pizza. I would think that it was be a novelty to see the pizza being made. Not sure if this is intentional or just not thought out, but felt claustrophobic with the pizza boxes so high. I say there are no paper products because the first visit approximately a month before this post, we received the pizza in a box, but no paper plates and had to ask, but recieved them, as well as asking for napkins as there were none. The waitress walked to the restroom and retrieved some paper towels but was helpful.
Subsequently after, every visit was awarded less paper products upon request, to the point where there were neither napkins, plates, paper towels, or toilet tissue in the building. The box of pizza placed in front of us with nothing to eat with. When inquired as to why there are never any napkins, the staff seemed perturbed with the question and had an excuse as to the way they order paper products.
Either way, the food is good but I don't see this establishment lasting if they don't tighten up the management of...
