The Front Porch — Restaurant in Georgia

I was driving past the front porch with my 91 year old mother, my daughter and grandkids. We stopped to buy ice cream and when I saw the beautifully decorated cake on the counter, I enquired about buying the cake. The clerk replied by saying the cake is only for sale by the slice. I then said “ how many slices can you get out of that cake?” I told her that I would pay her what ever the cost was for the cake is and she repeated “ we only sell by the slice”. I had to think that they either did not want to sell me anything or they do not know anything at all about business 🤦‍♀️.

I was confused to think this little hole in the wall did not need business so I decided to explain that I would pay what ever they wanted for the cake. The clerk went to the back to bring out another women whom I suppose is the business manager? When I explained to her that you could sell this entire cake right now and make another. She looked at me like I was crazy and said “ we only sell by the slice”. I don’t want to give anyone a bad name but when we left, my youngest grandson said “ that lady doesn’t know anything about making money” lol.

I will not waste my time again trying to offer this local business any of my time or money but I still...

Purchased from here once which was great, but definitely won't be back after today! First time coming to get lunch and simply asked if that's where to get the BBQ sandwiches, honest mistake, we thought the hot dog coach may have been making them but they were purchased through The Front Porch. The lady very quickly and extremely rudely let us know "this is a bakery!" before slamming her glass window shut; unfortunately it didn't shatter... Rude is an understatement and a few less customers she will have the pleasure of selling to. One star is too many. Guess she was never told "you get further with sugar than salt sweetheart."...

I have been to this bakery 4 times. The first 3 times were just alright. The younger lady that works here was nice after learning i am military and new to Valdosta. The older woman (owner) was there the last time I came by and she was rude & made me feel so unwelcomed. She barely made eye contact with me and kept saying "what else" with an attitude and rushing me. I don't understand why you would treat someone trying to support your business this way.

This business would benefit from learning hospitality, friendliness & welcoming guest. I unfortunately won't be back ever again because of how the older woman...
