Worst experience ever. We (myself, a friend and our 3 kids - a party of 5) called ahead of time asking the wait time, informed that it was 45 mins to an hour and that if we called back at 4P, which was another hour, that it would be less busy. No problem, as the drive was about 45 mins anyway. We got over to Cajun Crab at about 3:30P, went to host stand to give our name and were given an hour and 15 minute wait time, which was fine. We decided to wait outside and go inside closer to the time they would call our names. We waited about 45 mins in the car and decided to go inside. We sat in the foyer, as time started to approach tons of people came in and were given the wait time, however, our time came and went, we asked and were told another 30 mins as they were short staffed. Understanding, we waited another 45 mins, by this time it is 5:30. I asked how much longer at the host stand and was told another 15 mins. We waited. 5:45, they finally call our party, it is obvious that there are only 3 servers, so we were extra patient. Our server was nice, he was very accommodating. Unfortunately, the seafood combo I received was WAY TOO SALTY. Like overkill on the seasoning salt. I got crab legs, shrimp, mussels, and sausage. My friend got crab legs and shrimp, but never received the shrimp. When the checks came, they were the same price, which struck me as odd, but we were so ready to go, we handed both of our cards back with our bills. I was then DOUBLE CHARGED. apparently they charged my card for both meals, or somehow double charged my meal. I’m unsure how they even did that as we should’ve had two different totals. Needless to say, the manager was not very helpful and very nonchalant about the mix up. He basically just told me he knew the charge would fall off and if it didn’t to “dispute it with your bank” when I called to inquire about getting it refunded. Just a bad experience. I understand being short staffed, but they should probably be reservation only if they’re going to have 2-3 hour wait times. It’s also quite ridiculous to expect a customer to fix a mistake made at your establishment. If I could give zero...
Read moreI visited restaurant in Valdosta, Ga. I ordered crab legs that arrived inside of a bag. Upon opening the bag, I spotted a long red hair on my crab legs. Although I felt absolutely disgusted, I politely got the attention of my waitress and notified her of the issue. She took the food back and I waited an additional 30 to 45 min to recieve my food. When she returned with the food, I informed her that there was no corn inside of my bag (menu stated that crabs legs come with potatoes and corn). I also ordered coleslaw that I never recieved. Waitress eventually brought back the corn that was supposed to be included, but not the coleslaw. Upon cashing out, I asked the waitress if they would be able to discount for inconveniences of hair in food and wait time for preparation after mishaps. Waitress replied, "It's not on me. They are not going to give you a discount." I informed her that I would speak with the manager. Upon arriving to the front desk, waitress approached another staff member and began telling her, with disdain, that I'd requested a discount for the issues I'd had with their services and unsanitary practices. The staff member began telling me that I would have to pay for the corn, which was supposed to be included and the coleslaw that I never got. Waitress began cursing and hit the countertop saying, "I can't deal with this" and "She definitely got coleslaw." Waitress also held my family members' money and debit cards and wouldn't return them, even after they'd paid for their items, saying she wasn't going to return theirs until I pay for items that I never received. Waitress was very unprofessional and this is difinitely not the type of service that someone should have to experience or pay for. The staff member that she explained the issue to said that she was the manager, but her disposition was just as deplorable as the waitress. I really hope that these people can be held accountable for how they treat...
Read moreMy daughter entreated me to eat lunch with her at Cajun Wild Crab. I have long thought that Valdosta could use another seafood restaurant. Cajun Wild Crab specializes in seafood boil with varying degrees of spiciness. They also offer fried options if that is your preference. Your order is served in a closed cellophane bag and a deep-dish pan to trap the steam and all of the generous spices. A complimentary "slop" bucket is provided with bibs, gloves and wet-wipes. All you have to do is tear open the book bag and chow down! I had lobster tail and sausage, my daughter the Dungenesss crab, crawfish and sausage. All meals are served with corn and potatoes. It was all absolutely DEE-licious! The portions are generous (I couldn't finish mine) and cooked so well! The two of us ate for the reasonable price of $50 and it was well worth it. Out server, Deija, was professional, attentive, charming, and funny. She made the experience enjoyable. We ate on the outside patio and were surprisingly comfortable despite the 92-degree temperature because of the multitude of unobtrusive ceiling fans. I was happy to see that the fan blades were clean so that debris and dust wouldn't fly around and contaminate our food. There is piped music playing at a reasonable level and it didn't inhibit conversation. It was an absolutely fantastic experience and we will be returning - soon! FYI - if you live in the Valdosta area, you can enjoy Cajun Wild Crab's food from the comfort of your home or hotel by using the delivery...
