The Honey Baked Ham Company — Restaurant in Georgia

I have to admit when I entered my expectations were low, I was just looking for a "deli" sandwich and a quick place to eat. What I found is only something I will definitely return for. Last Friday I was looking for a sandwich shop for lunch in Dawsonville and started the Yelp app with a search for deli and sandwich. Under the "sandwich" search I came across Honey Baked Ham. I had seen it before when driving up GA 400 but never really paid much attention.

What a pleasant surprise! When I walked in, two staff members were working, one lady who was taking orders and making recommendations and a gentleman who was asking questions about how customer preferred their order.

I took my time perusing the over counter wall-mounted menu board and finally decided on the Tavern Club. I was asked if I wanted any sides and how I preferred my bacon cooked.

The sandwich was just amazing, a full half pound of meat; ham, smoked turkey breast, bacon ( I ordered my crispy), cheddar cheese, tomato, mayo, and honey mustard served on whole grain bread. My sandwich was brought to my table. Your drinks are served at a self-service drink station and are available with free refills.

I received a Honey Baked ham from this location and followed exact warming instructions on the package. I actually get/ serve one every year for many years and have always enjoyed them and never had any issues. Well Christmas dinner was absolutely ruined by this ham. It was total mush! No structure to the meat all the way through! I was mortified and had no way to replace it at 5:00 pm Christmas evening! Worst was when I called the store today, 12/27/2024 I was met by a manager who basically tried to blame me for warming it up!( exactly as the package label recommended! And as I have yet after year!) Wow, is all I can really say. I called to see if there were any hams available and the lady on the phone was rude as could be! I was put on hold 20 seconds into the call, about 5 seconds after she answered the phone, and when I asked the simple question of "what all do you have available" after she asked me how many I was trying to feed, she said to me " I'm not trying to be rude but figure out what you want, I have phones ringing off the hook over here!" Well, you failed miserably at not being rude. The whole call lasted a minute and thirty seconds and a minute of that I was on hold, so who wasted more time? Merry Christmas lady, I hope your day gets better. I'll take my money somewhere else from here on....
