The Varsity Dawsonville — Restaurant in Georgia

This place is my guilty pleasure! I used to go to the Varsity downtown when I was a kid after Braves games and remembered the long lines and yelling and just couldn’t wait to get some greasy food and go try to find a place to sit. Well now all of that is way up here in Dawsonville without the wait and plenty of seating! I basically was able to walk up within seconds of arriving and order the same things I always did and it still tastes the same as it did back in the 70’s and 80’s!!

My favorite is the Chili Burger and Chili Dog Combo with the Onion Rings. They are so greasy but so tasty! They have this cayenne pepper shakers at the tables you can sprinkle anything you want to add some heat to. They have plenty of outside seating as well to enjoy on a nice day. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I want there and got two kids meals and me a bacon chessebuger meal for 23.00 dollars. It was horrible. Bun was hard as a rock. Pattys had to be frozen they were tasteles. An nothing on tbe burger you think for that price maybe some lettuce or tomato or even onion. He'll not for 8.00 you get a plain burger thats is dried out, cold fries and a coke. Trust me when I say this this will be my first and last time there. There food is absolutely horrible .I took one bite and that did it for me. I wouldnt let me 4 year old eat his burger it was to hard. I got them something else to eat at McDonald's. I paid $13 for my meal, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The burger was made with two bland patties, cheese, and honestly reminded me of a dry school burger from the Covid era. I like toasted buns, but this one tasted more like dust than anything else. For a fraction of the price, McDonald's offers a better burger that actually tastes like something. The only reason I’m giving it two stars is because the chili cheese fries were decent, though I was disappointed not to receive a fork with my order.
