My family of 17 scheduled a reservation 10 days ago. Not only did they not have a table ready, they treated us like we were asking for too much when we tried to figure out what was going on. We waited over an hour while they let everyone else in, including larger parties. Our family was so looking forward to this experience and are very disappointed.
EDIT: I get it, the majority one star ratings are people being petty, but a blatant statement was made by another restaurant goer discounting people’s one star ratings without clearly reading what they said. This person made it appear as if we were being unreasonable and that the restaurant didn’t deserve the rating at all, simply because it was their soft opening. This person is not aware of all the particulars involving our experience, therefore, has no right to criticize our one star rating, which by the way was not just from our 17 people party. We didn’t show up at the restaurant the same day we booked the reservation and expected 17 people to be seated right away. We booked our reservation TEN DAYS in advance with the expectation that we would be seated within a reasonable time. We also expected when we were told something about our table by the staff that it was the truth. Instead, we were met with condescension from a female staff member. She made excuses and belittled her workmates while making us feel like we were being unreasonable for still waiting over an hour later for a table. I’m also going to add that other customers were being seated before us, including larger parties that were slightly smaller than us. Over an hour later, we still had no seating time set. We had to find another restaurant to accommodate us so shout out to Kani House for hooking us up!. None of us are trying to ruin the restaurants reputation, they did that themselves. I hope going forward, they do better. And to the person who felt the need to discount our rating, we all live in Dawsonville although not sure what that has to do...
Read moreDisorganized, Unprofessional, and Completely Disrespectful Experience I made a reservation a week in advance for a birthday dinner with a party of 17 at Volcano Steak & Sushi. I understand it was opening day, so I expected a little chaos and maybe a short wait — but what we experienced was beyond unacceptable.
We arrived 25 minutes early, only to be told we weren’t on the reservation list. As I tried to explain, a young man came over holding the list with my name, time, and party size clearly written down. Instead of an apology, the hostess brushed it off with zero accountability or professionalism.
We were then told to wait outside and that we’d be called when our table was ready. Over the next hour, multiple employees came out with excuses — asking if we needed booster seats, saying the table was being cleaned, promising “10 more minutes” — yet party after party was seated before us.
After waiting an hour with no progress, we had no choice but to leave and try to find another restaurant that could accommodate such a large group on short notice — a huge inconvenience, especially for a birthday celebration we planned carefully.
Just as we were loading into our cars, I received a call saying “Your table for 17 is ready.” Half our group turned back, trying to give them a second chance. Then a few minutes later, another employee called to say the first call was a mistake and our table wasn’t actually ready. At that point, it was clear this restaurant has serious communication, management, and customer service issues. The only positive note was one male employee who seemed genuinely honest and apologetic, but unfortunately, his efforts were overshadowed by an untrained and unorganized staff. Completely unprofessional from start to finish. This experience ruined what should have been a special evening. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone expecting reliability, respect, or even basic...
Read moreIt is best shared by the pictures, two groups that were set well after us eat and left before we had food on our plates. 1hr 5min between salad and food. Food sub par at best. But because so many of you follow me for recommendations on restaurants let me take another approach. Brand new chain restaurant Ambience is A +++ Food is C- a little below what you expect in Dawsonville as a whole. Serving D- from having to fill our on drink refills to being left so long we had to ask the hostess for a manger. The next two groups that came in were able to order and leave before we had food on our plates. Then they even added a gratuity to the $150 dollar bill automatically. The manger did finally bring a 10 dollar gift card for a future visit. In all fairness it is just a low end hibachi restaurant in a pretty package. And it is a new store struggling to get open. Cleanliness gets A but it is brand new. Cook does a reasonable job with the show he does over and over again. But does they need help with cooking order to get hot food on the plate as a meal. Wish them...
