This was supposed to be my birthday special meal. On a scale of 1 - 5 I give it a 2 1/2. My kids chipped in to make my food wish come true. Went online to order and found out doesn't delivery. No problem I will drive the 20 something miles to pick up. The msg said it would be available between 1:00 That was at 11 am. Then at 12:30 got another msg that said it would be ready between 11:15 -11:30. So I called to verify. So off we go. The meal was ready and I left a tip for the $50 meal. In addition to the meat lovers meal we ordered another rice, naan, yogurt dip and fried cheese. The meat was very skimpy. There was only 1 shrimp, the few pieces of chicken were dry, the few pieces of goat and lamb had no flavor and not all that tender either. The yogurt dip was so so, the fried cheese was pretty and golden but again dried. The saving grace was the tenderness and aromatics of the rices. To say that my Birthday celebration meal with my youngest was disappointing is an understatement. I mean really, I had been saving my appetite for this occasion after reading all the 4 ⭐ customer reviews. We don't generally eat out because I'm a mom who can cook just about anything. This time I didn't want to shop at the Indian Market and have alot of spices left over not to mention cook it myself. Bottom line, I can not recommend Taj of India except for rice, naan bread and maybe mint chutney. This is me in tears and embarrassment on my birthday. 😭 Because I was really looking forward to making this a...

she showed up directly with the credit card machine without a check. When we asked for the itemized check, her attitudes were “printing out the payment receipt is our way to get your itemized check.” Wow 🤔 keep on reading, and you’ll understand why in the below points
she watched us the whole time while we had to press on her credit card machine to tip.
TIPS!!! the amount she showed on the credit card machine of course was post-tax (8+%) WITH a 3% credit card fee. No wonder she didn’t want to show a bill. So don’t hesitate to downgrade the suggested tip on the machine. And I wouldn’t be surprised if she presented an even worse overcharged bill as other comments said.
they were trying to let you take your messy leftover home with compartment-style boxes while they totally have sealed food containers for takeouts. So go ahead and ask for what you need, especially they are already charging you tips on top of taxes and credit card fees. BTW, the waitress rolled her eyes on us while we made the request
food is ok but very small servings, we can see them trying to cut corners, like not the cleanest napkins. We walked into the restaurant with good first impressions but we left...
Me and my partner had the pleasure of dining in on Christmas Eve. Taj of India is my favorite Indian Restaurant in this area because of the wide variety of menu items, diet accommodations and the best Indian food I’ve ever had at very reasonable price.
However, I am leaving a review solely because of the outstanding service server Diane gave us. Diane is clearly a very experienced, seasoned server when it comes to guest experience in this industry. Her charisma, kind hearted and witty humor, attentiveness and attention to detail to ensure we were taken care of was impeccable and make my night. I found the small gesture of quickly remembering our names and addressing us by our names the entire time to be such a welcoming and thoughtful thing to do that I’ve never experienced anywhere else. She made the dine in experience feel like a family gathering during the holidays. I told my boyfriend to tip well and we showered with compliments. I just wanted to give her recognition formally here!
Thank you Diane and to the entire staff that day. I will continue to recommend Taj of India to others. The owner was very kind and friendly as...
