Underwhelmed and disappointed are the kindest words I can use to describe our experience, and I only use them because our server tried very hard to compensate for all the other ways Cucina 503 fell completely flat on its face.
The hosts were printing out menus, so when we finally were seated, we had to wait a bit for menus…and water…and a server. I’m quite certain we didn’t get who was actually supposed to be our server, neither did the table next to us, because our server that finally arrived said, “I don’t know where she is so I guess I’ll get you.” The menus, once we received them, didn’t match the entrees for the evening. I’m super confused why everyone raves about the food. Other than the mussels, everything else was lackluster at best. Some other review compared it to Stouffer’s (I wish we would have read that sooner)— yeah, that’s accurate. I had the gnocchi, all eight of them. The lasagna was good, but the duck was meh, and green beans were cold and looked sad and shriveled. Drinks were hardly refilled…Again, our server tried his hardest, weaving in humor to lighten the mood, which was the brightest part of the night, because some host literally took one of our lamps and gave it to another table. The entire staff we encountered exuded inexperience, except our server. By the end, one of my party members stated “I would have rather gone to Olive Garden,” which barely passes for Italian food. I’m not a food critic, but I sure expect a whole lot more for that price point. Will...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing food! We came during dinner hours around 8pm on a Friday. We were seated quickly (even though they asked if we had a reservation). The waiter said everything was made from scratch and it shows. I ordered a lasagna and my wife had shrimp risotto. The quality of the meat in the lasagna was amazingly flavorful, and the cheese was perfectly melted. None of the lasagna was burnt on the edges which often happens at places that don't know what they're doing, I was really satisfied with the dish and would totally come back again. My wife also really loved her food, although she couldn't finish it. The prices were also super reasonable and I felt I got a good value for the quality of the food. Totally would recommend, please come! Our waiter was attentive and also courteous. The only place I could possibly take away some points would be from the decor of the store. It's obvious that it's a metal frame building and their interior design choices are "extremely" modern, and not well thought out. But honestly the place is clean and the food is so good it doesn't matter how goofy the design is. Tiramisu is also really great and is also handmade. Best tasting tiramisu I've...
Read moreVery terrible experience. From the moment we walked in we felt unwelcome. My husband and I had reservations but were told we could not be seated right away because they were about to seat another party. The wait was about 10 minutes. After we got to our table, we sat for another 15 minutes and no one waited on us, offered us water, or even spoke to us. We had to ask for a waiter. When we were finally checked on, the waitress took our drink order and never came back. Ten minutes later we were assigned a new waitress. One of color… She was not waiting on any other tables in our section. It’s like she was assigned to us. We sat for a total of over 40 minutes without even being given bread. When we called the manager over to ask if there was an issue, he said they were just trying to keep up with the rush, but every other table that was sat after us had drinks, bread, some even had their food. We will definitely never visit Cucina 503 ever again.
Edited to add the only prompt service we received was after we decided to just pay for our drinks and go. The waitress told us to take our time paying, and came back to check if we were ready to pay not even two...
