Very over priced ordered the BLT asked the Waitress what sides it comes with. She stated just the sandwich. $13.50 for a BLT, so ordered a side of fries over $17 for just a meal no drink for lunch. It was my Husband and I over $50. This place is definitely over priced. They don't even offer a Veterans or a first responder discount. The waitress was very good but definitely over stuffed when half of them were sitting at a table just conversating with each other. Live in gering, so decided to try this place out. Will never go back again because of the pricing. Food was good but not for the price they were asking. I can get better food at a better price.

In response to the owner

I'm well aware of P&L I have ran a successful restaurant for over twenty four years. Matter of fact I was there on a Thursday not a saturday or a sunday. There are time for breaks and there is time for working. So you're telling me you would be willing to be overstaffed. Have your crew sit down wasting labor while on the clock and be over priced. For what I have observed your losses is in wages and making up for being over priced. Make sense. 🙄 Now you have...

I have been to the Mixing Bowl a few times with my wife and we have enjoyed it a lot but this time we were extremely disappointed in the service. I ordered strawberry cheesecake pancakes but they were plain and tasteless so we asked our server to send them back and got a different dish, which was much better and enjoyable. When we got to paying the bill we were charged for the pancakes we sent back. When we asked our server about it, she said that she had to ‘fight’ with the manager to get us a 15% off those pancakes that we sent back. Getting charged for food that we did not like and sent back is something that we did not expect from a place we enjoyed going to. And the server having to fight with management to give any discount for a bad meal but still not either giving it for free or explaining it to us before the bill was just disappointing and poor.

Edit: The owners refunded the pancakes fully and dealt with the situation quickly. Very impressed with the resolution of the situation and will...

You absolutely MUST stop here! This is the best hidden gem of a cafe/bakery there is. The atmosphere is great, the inside and outside are clean and tidy & the food is amazing. I went in and ordered pastries/desserts from their display case and everything I ordered was perfection! I ordered several so I could share with my 95 year old grandma. Becca was helping me. She was above and beyond friendly, provided me with a cutting board and packaging so everything would travel well - I was super impressed. I also visited with one of the owners and he was extremely friendly and helpful. I went back the next day and had an equally positive experience. Bottom line - if you’re within 100 miles of this place - the drive is worth it! It makes my top 10 list for sure!

  • Had to add one more edit! I purchased several gluten free items for my sister. She said they were all amazing & she would highly recommend anything GF! (This comes from someone who has been GF for over a decade & has tried...

Conveniently located near the Historic Oregon Trail and Scottsbluff National Monument, The Mixing Bowl is a highly community focused establishment. Their community bulletin board is a great resource for staying connected and up to date on what's happening in the Gering and Scottsbluff areas. The Mixing Bowl takes an active role in contributing to and supporting their community. Their offering of gluten-free options is a thoughtful gesture that is hard to find. It can be difficult to find a place that has accommodated dietary restrictions. And of course, having the best coffee ever is a plus.. its seriously the BEST. They even have the convenience of a drive-through window. The staff were friendly, patient and took time to answer our questions. The Mixing Bowl also carries a variety of local products for purchase. If you are in the area, and want a coffee, treat, smoothie, meal or more, you've got to check out The Mixing Bowl.

Cute with table, bench and window seating, offering breakfast all day as well as lunch, mocha, lattes and steamers. Tomato, avocado and bacon Benedict good flavor, eggs hard boiled rather than the usual soft, bacon made into crispy bits- just right crunch. I was not a fan of the 3- 4 slices cooked tomatoes laid on the bread underneath the Benedict- bread became quickly soggy...Homemade hash browns were lightly crisped outside, soft and delicious inside. I couldn't resist ordering a side of 1 of their pancakes which was perfectly made. I added only butter- didn't add syrup as pancake is made with sweet cream -fluffy, rich and a slight sweetness that is "just right" . Steady local traffic, table games available as well as wifi. Move to new location planned late fall 2022 with fireplace, more seating.
