El Chilango Mexican Grill in Germantown is a hidden gem for Mexican cuisine enthusiasts. I had the pleasure of dining there recently and was thoroughly impressed by the quality and flavors of their dishes.
To start, I tried their Taco Sodet, a delightful twist on traditional tacos. The combination of crispy tortillas, flavorful meat, and fresh toppings created a mouthwatering experience. Next, I indulged in their Carne Asada, which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The Tripa and Lengua tacos were also exceptional, showcasing the chef's skill in preparing offal meats.
What truly stood out to me was their Tamarind Juice. It was a refreshing and tangy drink that served as the perfect foil to the spiciness of the dishes. The balance of flavors in each sip was truly remarkable.
Aside from the food, the ambiance of El Chilango Mexican Grill is cozy and inviting. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that every diner has a pleasant experience.
In conclusion, El Chilango Mexican Grill is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors in Germantown. The combination of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout dining...
Read moreMy wife and I finally decided to try this after seeing the food truck many times. I’ll start off by saying that the food was ok and WAYY overpriced. I’m glad I only ordered 1 taco. And my wife ordered a quesadilla. I’m all up for supporting hard working people. The couple does appear to work hard. All together, we paid 15 dollars for 1 taco and 1 quesadilla. The quesadilla was 12 dollars! No drinks or anything included.
The sour cream and guacamole tasted very much like it had been sitting there for a day or two. Luckily we didn’t get sick. It certainly wasn’t fresh.
Lastly, as we were waiting there, the owner, decided to have a conversation with another customer. I’m assuming they were friends. The owner mentioned something about Salvadorean people and how “he’s not racist” against them but they recently started taking a lot of his customers..I’m assuming he was referring to his competition. But he continued to vent on Salvadoreans...little did he know that I’m from El Salvador and I heard all the bad things he was saying about them. My wife told me to let him be since I was pretty offended.
In summary, the food is not worth for the price unless this is the only place...
Read moreThey take charge or debit cards, but they seem to prefer cash. Their time of business not reliable, but generally they are there 7pm forth.
The food is pretty large portion specially Tortas. However I'm not sure the price is justifiable ( $15.00 Tortas ). They can throw more chips in as well.
They can take long getting your food prepared ( longest yet 40 minutes yikes!) Sometimes is 15 to 20 min.
Tortas taste better than average. They use black beans paste to butter their toasted bread. The tacos meat (steak) was a bit "slimey, greasy(mantequa)" if that makes sense.
The lady that takes your order is not exactly costumer friendly. Don't expect warm friendly interacting. Sometimes outright rude, ( "can I try.. number....(buzz sounds eh!)Try again not available! It's almost as if she's angry taking your order. Also she's tried short changing my money twice. I've been there few times, she's still with the same bitter interaction each time.
Overall bit pricey, bad costumer service decent tortas , quesadilla, (That I've tried) Tacos...
