I remember when this place was really good. It was a little busier than I recall, possibly because it was the 1st of the month and a Saturday night. It took longer than expected for a waiter attend to us and our drink orders were slow. In the past they poured decent drinks... my wife said that her coffee nudges tasted like they didn't have much alcohol in them. My wife ordered the large cut of prime rib with a loaded baked potato and a salad with blue cheese, I ordered the same. Her salad came, without silverware but somehow he forgot about my salad and had to remind him about the 7up that I ordered. A little later the waiter said that one of the stakes was ready, but because of some mix up the other wasn't ready and asked if I wanted to wait for both to be ready or to bring the one that was ready, I opted to have the one that was ready brought out. What arrived wasn't the 12oz prime rib that we ordered, but a 16oz ribeye. When we bought it to the waiters attention he apologized and asked what we would like to do. We opted to eat the ribeye rather than sending them back and get what we ordered. The ribeye was properly cooked, medium rare, like we ordered and it tasted good... the chef did a good job, with the steaks... the mix up was the waiters fault. The loaded baked potato was a little over cooked and tough and the salad was mainly the type of lettuce that my wife calls weeds. Overall it was a very disappointing anniversary celebration.
They really need to higher more staff, one bartender is insufficient for a busy Saturday night and if there were more waiters maybe there would be fewer errors. I blame the owners or/and management. Also while there are entrees on the menu in the $10 - $20 dollar range, prime rib and ribeye are in the $30 - $40 range.
I'm unlikely to consider going there again...
Read moreWe are one of 2 tables seated at 530pm on a Tuesday evening. The server greets us 5 minutes after we sit down. We are a party of 5. At 5:50 we place an appetizer order while we wait for our final member to arrive. At 6:20 our final party member arrives. At 6:25 we all place our dinner orders. I cancel the appetizer order as it had been over 30 minutes. The server says that she can't cancel the order once placed. I explain that we ordered them for while we were waiting. She said that she only had one cook. The appetizer comes out at 6:30.
One cook, 2 tables (ours and a 2 top), 4 people at the bar. 30+ minutes for a appetizer. And then attitude.
We most likely will not be back. Very sad.
Addendum. After taking the dinner order, the server returned to the table to check on drinks 30 minutes later. She simple said that our orders should be up in a few minutes.
At 7:00 dinner orders we still not...
Read moreNot a good impression. I'm usually very accepting of restaurants, especially if they are new. This one has been in town for a very long time and I expected more, maybe that's why I was so dissapointed. It took over 25 minutes to recieve our orders, which felt like forever because we didn't get much attention. My dad used to rate a place based on how full his coffee cup stayed, and I have a similar ideal with my soda. RC cola is dated and unappealing, much like the restaurant. The food tasted alright but nothing special, I've had this quality everywhere. I got the combo basket and most of my tartar sauce ended in the basket, not a great design. It was over $80 for 4 of us, and it sure didn't feel like we got our money's worth. Every table also is half a booth so if you're not a fan... anyways it's just a bar with food, if you're expecting a dining experience you'll be...
