El Mazatlan Mexican Bar & Grill #1 — Restaurant in Glasgow

I've always found their food to be as good as the other Mexican restaurants in town. The service however, has remained a pleasant surprise. One night after a local senior graduation, some teens were driving around town and throwing eggs (we later saw them all along that street and on street signs). We picked that night to park at the front along the sidewalk. Upon arrival at our car, after exiting the restaurant, we discovered the mess all over our windshield. It was upsetting to me as I was pregnant at the time. We went inside to see if the workers had saw anything. No one had, but we were asked to wait a second. Suddenly several workers appeared with a bucket of warm soapy water and offered to clean off our car. We were shocked and forever impressed by the thoughtfulness of their service. They cleaned the entire windshield which allowed us to safely drive home.

Update: it's now 2016 and I still can praise this place and the staff! My entire family goes often and without issue. The one time my fajita meal was a bit overlooked, it was replaced at their suggestion. They will even customize your meal by request such as how I prefer to add mushrooms and a mix of chicken and beef for my fajitas! Highly recommended place to eat and the outdoor patio is great...especially nice watching the sunset and then staring...

Love-Love-Love this place!! Great Mexican style cuisine at reasonable prices; the service is EXCELLENT these people don't dilly dally. They get you right in-even when crowded-plus there has NEVER been an extended wait time to be seated and served for any of us. Folks, not exaggerating I've literally eaten there in excess of 100 times; granted about 70% of those times were carry out orders but after I placed my to-go order I've never waited over 7-8 minutes to be out the door--order in hand even when they were slammed with dine in and carryout orders!! 😄👏 EXCELLENT MEXICAN STYLE CUISINE and OUTSTANDING SERVICE coupled with very reasonable prices. The portion sizes are good too so if you come in hungry you'll leave full!! Seriously, why eat that cheap Americanized imitation swill when you can have a true dining EXPERIENCE that you'll be sure to remember??!! My friends I highly recommend that you treat yourself to the REAL DEAL in Mexican cuisine. That tells you why I keep going back again...

I went to the new location across from walmart. It is owned by the same owners as Cancun. It even has the same menu. I'm sorry, but the food is just bland. Its good, but no heat. I didnt even ask for a hotter salsa because if they are like Cancun, they charge for it, and the tomatillo salsa is not done right. (Go to Mercado Latino for a properly done tomatillo hot sauce). The steak was so tough that my mother-in-law couldnt even eat it. Im guessing its sirloin tip cut into strips, but regardless, it can be made tender using certain techniques that I won't go into. Hint(chinese methods). Still cutting it into chunks would have helped too, but my MIL didnt want to wrestle with it. If you want good tex-mex type food, Garcias is the clear winner with an honorable mention to Los Mariachis on a good day when the owner is there.
