King II Wok — Restaurant in Glen Rock

This review really hurts because this was my absolute favorite and only place that I got Chinese food from. Last week when I was in there waiting for my order I observed one of the cooks carrying a gray tray full of broccoli from the area where they cook to the fridge. when he switched hands to open the fridge door he juggled and dropped the broccoli tray flat on the ground and as a result a decent amount of the broccoli came out of the tray and went on to the floor. In my mind I said of course he's going to just pick up the tray and put it in the fridge and take whatever broccoli was on the floor and throw it in the garbage. Much to my surprise the cook while looking right at me almost as if it was instinctual, scooped the broccoli and put it right back into the tray before he picked it up and carried it into the fridge. Out loud I screamed oh my God I cannot believe what I just saw and the guy who takes the orders almost did not believe what I told him, and because I kept making a big deal about what I saw he eventually told the cook to bring out the broccoli tray where he scooped only the top layer of broccoli off and threw it in the garbage and then put the bin of broccoli back into the fridge. I then said to the guy you have to throw that whole Bin out I don't care how expensive it is and how much broccoli it is you need to throw the whole bin in the trash and he said "no we got the part out that hit the floor" and I told him you didn't even see what happened because you are by the deep fryers at the time. I told him I will not eat the food there ever again. The guy shrugged his shoulders and they proceeded to do business as usual. NEVER AGAIN WILL...

I work in Fair Lawn, less than a mile away, and felt like getting delivery today. I didn't leave a tip since there was a delivery charge already assessed on my order. I received a call back from an older lady asking how much I wanted to leave the driver. I said that there was the delivery charge and she said that went to the restaurant, not the driver. That's fine, I told her to leave a dollar. She tried to press me for $2 and when I told her it would be $1, she said "wow, you are so cheap." Well, since I am so cheap, I won't be ordering from here anymore. There are plenty of other Chinese restaurants around here with food just as good and without the insults. Delicious!!! My new spot and will definitely be back/order again. My husband & I stopped by the Rita’s for my kids a few stores down, was hungry and the food here smelled amazing. I stopped in and placed an order with a really sweet lady up front. We had egg drop soup, sautéed broccoli with garlic sauce, pork fried rice & chicken lo mein. SO GOOD! Everything was fresh and really tasty. The chicken in the lo mein was flavorful and NOT dry. Loved it!! I can’t wait to try more, ...
