My 13 year old son and I decided to stop in for a quick lunch on the way home from his orthodontist appt. yesterday. We were the first customers in the dining area just before lunch time.... and the waitress became obviously annoyed because she was trying to have a conversation with the other waitress before the big lunch rush. They WERE open. Anyway, we ordered 2 sandwiches. There happens to be a small pickle bar with potato salad and coleslaw from which the customer can partake before they eat. The plates are very small to keep people from getting greedy... which is understood. My son and I made a trip. I took a small helping of potato salad and coleslaw with a pickle. Our sandwiches came so fast that I only took a bite of my pickle and a bite of the potato salad. By the time I had finished half of my sandwich, I could not eat anymore. I asked the waitress to wrap up the other half and the rest of my potato salad and coleslaw. She told me that I was not "allowed" to take my potato salad and coleslaw home with me. I'm sorry.... WHAT? The sandwich I had just eaten was very expensive. It came with nothing else but that little helping of potato salad and coleslaw from the bar.....something you always get in a diner without serving yourself! I said "so instead of giving it to me, you are just going to throw it away???" Obnoxiously she said "YES! That's the way the owner wants it." I might be able to understand it if the plates were bigger than a 5" diameter and we made several trips.... but we made one! With all of the starvation that goes on... to just throw away food??? Why don't they just make a one trip policy if they are so afraid they are going to be short a pickle??? You can barely fit anything on the plates as it is... These people are so obviously full of greed... and the waitress needs to take a charm class because she was extremely rude. Her entire demeanor just ruined our afternoon :( BACK TO THE OWNERS RESPONSE.... we were not looking to take several plates or planning take out. We just wanted the small amount we were entitled to have with our meal. You throw away food in a starving world. SHAME ON YOU. And, please don't try to draw the negative attention away by speaking about your BIG sandwich. UGH. This was NOT about free take-out. It was you pinching pennies. The food on my small plate was included with the meal for...

Something is very wrong at Kosher Nosh in Glen Rock Nj where coughing in your customers food is acceptable
. Clearly it starts at the top and trickles down to the workers.
Avi you need to gain customer service skills . Because you are truly lacking in that department along with common sense . Clearly you have none .
Your phone etiquette is beyond offensive , just like your employee coughing in my food and making excuses.
You have unmitigated Gaul to turn this on your customer. Because your uneducated employee has no common sense either like you or is he familiar with Serve Safe rules .
He told me he only had a little sore throat when he coughed with out a mask on my food . It’s nothing he said Omg Additionally your food and its quality has gone down . Your pastrami was not good and deserts were old .
I guess in a small little jersey town with small minds and little exposure You can satisfy. You would never make it in the big city
Don’t worry I won’t be back I will call the health department and Make them aware you don’t follow serve safe rules .
Avi all you had to do was acknowledge Your customer experience in your so called restaurant. You would think after all these years you would of learned that But no u have not learned the skill of service and management
clearly you are very arrogant !
Good job. Offending See you when we meet our maker for the balance Sending it all back to you and your uneducated inept employees and I will spread the word
My first response: And in response to your response lol If they knew your lack of safe food practices they would not eat your food. ! Small mind little exposure since 1976 Boy arrogance is very unattractive in a service business turning it on your customer for dirty and unclean practices that your employee did in front of me .
Check your spelling Mr Stupid
My second response to Avi : Clearly you are not very smart as you want to call my written experience in your restaurant condescending and arrogant .when it has to do with your employee coughing In my food Avi the arrogance is coming from you . Mr Stupid
I see you went back and corrected your spelling ,and added the word condescending in regards to my written experience. what you should correct And address and educate is your...
Read moreI get there and start ordering (it’s 15 min before closing so i get the rush to go home.. im a partner in a Clifton restaurant so im not giving 1 star here) and the guy at the counter looks at his watch. I asked “everything ok man do i still have time to order?” Like come on dont look at your watch when people come in close to closing, it’s rude
The pastrami sandwich was excellent
4 nice pickles, good dressing, good cookies as well, tam tam crackers were very good (was for my liver pate)
But… no joke or exaggeration the corn beef was probably the worst i ever had ..beside me making my own lol which is always tough ..but im no expert - I’ve eaten at every major jewish deli in this area and nyc - my sandwich was fatty stingy could barely chew most of it no exaggeration ..i don’t even know how it could be so bad honestly, the guy gave me like the worst cuts or something. - $19 wasted
And to make it worse i spend $18 on a #3 size chopped liver pate - which i was really really looking forward to eating (if you love liver pate you recognize the heart break lol) and they forgot to give it to me ..again because of closing chaos - partially my fault for not looking but still
I wasn’t going to complain but after that corner beef i had to say something just to let the owner know, if i was an owner I’d like to know especially with this place’s legacy and legendary status - I’ll be back to try the corn beef two more times just to make sure I’m not crazy
Concentrate on your customer,...
