John's Donut Shop — Restaurant in Glendale Heights

This a cute little local family run donut shop in a small strip mall. This is the smallest donut place I ever seen. You could miss it if you’re not looking for it. Thus nice lady Rosie greeted me and started a box for me. They make small batches with a. Ice variety and their setup works. Rosie took extra care to line the bottom of the box with tissue and put the donuts in the box nicely. The cake donuts were fluffy and the glaze wasn’t too sweet, Boston crème had a decent amount of custard filling and the glazed raised was par for the course. Donuts that had peanuts, coconut and other outer glazes were really packed on generously. There was no grease residue in the box or with the donuts. Wasn’t going to give a review until I saw all the positive reviews. Not quite sure why so many high reviews. Been going here for years, stopped going when owners switched a few years ago. Stopped in for a few donuts today and wasn’t impressed place is overpriced for that cheap quality, donuts tasted freezer burnt, icing flaked off and was tasteless. Clearly day old donuts stored in a freezer overnight ended up throwing away what I bought. Will not be back. Don’t waste your money here if you’re looking for...

Donuts very delicious, came in for the first time after hearing about this place from Facebook. Got a half dozen and a few jelly donuts. Very friendly and helpful and it has alot of different varieties to choose from and some I have never heard of like honeydew pretty good. Not so sweet to be honest this will be my new favorite place over competitors and support your local small businesses. I'm surprised and shocked this is the first time hearing about this place...
